VERY GOOD QUALITY FOOD / COFFEE! I feel I need to react on Jessica T review as most of her comments are false.

They have a card machine and it works; I used my card in one occasion. Please Jessica do not make your case a generality as I could do the same: they discounted my food as they couldn't give me the right change on another occasion; and everytime with a smile and being very friendly genuine and kind.

Good to hear you have spotted spelling mistakes on the boards, i personally haven't... next time let them know, that would be nice of you.

You said you felt them a little bit stressed? Not I. it is their first time opening a Café and frankly to my opinion they are doing amazing! The husband is the most chatty and friendly person and really help make all customers feel comfortable. To me it doesn't look like it is their first time opening a café as they already look very professional and experienced!

Jessica you've made one constructive comment which I'm sure the owner have appreciated: re. Instagram: I believe they now have an account... and perhaps another constructive comment about the bread which I found very good (it's also organic 🙂) and handy for me as I'm local and bored of Tesco's selection.

Lastly, I must also disagree on (one of) your last point as to my opinion their gluten free / vegan cakes are just amazing. Please try again maybe another flavour, the lady does make magic with glutten free / vegan recipes.

Good luck to them in their...

Disclaimer: I never got the food but don't want to give 1 star as I ordered online through JustEat so this might be more their fault than the cafe's.

Despite saying it would take 10-25 minutes, it was coming up to 2 hours and the timer kept resetting to being ~20-35 minutes away (I ordered at 1:30pm and decided to cancel around 3pm because delivery was saying 3:15-3:30pm and just kept getting pushed back).

It said the restaurant was having trouble finding drivers, which I can understand at a busy time on Saturdays, but halfway through waiting I ordered from another place in the same area as I had no idea if the food would arrive or not.

The other place delivered within 25 minutes and seemingly had no issue finding drivers. Perhaps some places get to prioritise drivers - I have no idea.

I was going to cancel after 1 hour because I was in a rush and needed something quickly, but it said I would pay full price because food was already prepared. I decided I'd just wait the extra ~25 mins or so, but it kept resetting so I gave up.

(It's also discouraging that food can apparently be prepared and sitting about for an hour before it's delivered and I still have to pay full price, but there we are.)

The food might be great (I never received it so can't say), so anyone reading this don't be put off by my review if you're going there in person. But ultimately, extremely...

The score is based solely on anti covid measures taken by the cafe and not on the quality of the coffe.

We went there for a takeaway coffe on the 11th of July , and we didn't feel safe from a covid perspective : Members of staff didn't wear masks not gloves, not even when dealing with food There wasn't a proper table service, meaning customers sitting at the table were coming to the counter where also customers who were ordering take aways were queueing (in a disorganised manner which jeopardised safe social distancing) Tables were not cleaned between customers- new customers could sit at a table where used cups and plates were still there There was no proper queueing system, meaning everybody could get in to order at the same time . This resulted in too many people indoor waiting to order, so that it was not possible to respect the one metre plus rule There was no one way system to get in or go out, meaning the one metre plus distance rule was difficult to respect when entering or leaving the premises

On the plus side, there was hand sanitiser by the counter for customers to use, the place was well ventilated , there were few seats outside and milk and sugar to put in takeaway coffees were not communal, but added by...

Nice, friendly place when I have been able to visit, but it has been closed THREE OUT OF THE FIVE times I have been there. This is in spite of my following the hours posted on Google Maps. I turn up to find a sign on the door "Closed today" or arrive 2-3 hours before closing and they are closed already. Once such closure I can understand, but three times in as many weeks? Journey Cafe, with the greatest respect, what is going on? How are you managing to get by when people can't visit you? Disappointed to be having to write this, but do give us a chance to come and drink your coffee and eat! No worries - well one of those occasions was on the 11th of October when I arrived with my girlfriend and we saw the closed sign in your window. The other two times were in July, I think. I will check my notes and should be able to give you at least one of the dates when it happened. Both times were between midday and 2pm, I seem to remember. Shall report back soon!

Oh no! Why on Earth did we wait until the last day of our UK trip to try the Journey Café in Sydenham? This little gem was delightful! Absolutely delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and very friendly staff. Next year when we're through this way again we will absolutely spend more time exploring the menu here:-) The bacon, diced chili pepper and toast was delicious. The kids and I ate ours so fast I don't have a picture for you, lol. My wife got avocado, tomato and halloumi on toast and it was amazing. Coffee and a rich chocolate brownie rounded it out. If you're through this way do stop in!

For whatever reason it was quiet when I went in but based on the food choices and what I ordered, I bet that place is packed. The eggs and feta on toast was simply delicious on nice crusty bread. It was not where I was planning to go but glad I stopped for a light breakfast. The homemade pastries looked amazing and the staff was nice. Definitely worth checking out again the next time I am in London.
