We came here for some local food and thought we would try here and what a mistake. The food was mediocre, was edible but not worth the price you pay. The salmon and Seaweed wrap around the sushi itself was tough and hard to chew. We hadn’t received the best of service throughout the meal and felt constantly pestered to have our plates removed even when there was unfinished food on them. I would understand if they was heaving but it was only us in there and another table at the beginning of our meal. When we went to pay we did ask to remove the service charge( which we are allowed) and our waitress insisted it was mandatory to pay and how it was stated on the menu we would HAVE TO pay this. I argued this politely with her and she responded rather rudely so she went to “check” something -she had done this multiple times and we felt like it was to stall the conversation. She was very happy to take this payment with the card machine already at hand ( after i had already asked multiple times to remove the service charge) however whilst she "checked something", we wanted to see if we had missed this mandatory payment notice. When we checked it was stated a DISCRETIONARY payment would be added to the bill. The menu itself states that this % is optional! We are never the ones to remove this charge but why should we pay a service charge for service that was rude and rushed. After i stated what the menu itself said the waitress began to make excuses and then called on her boss to help her. When he came, he didn’t even ask why and just started to remove this off our bill. From what i could gather from their conversation, she was actually”unsure” how to remove this service charge off the bill. If this is true or not, I’m not sure but if it was she could’ve just told us and got her boss straight away right? instead she was trying to almost pressure us to pay this OPTIONAL charge and then acted innocent in front of the boss. also the toilets had no toilet paper :)

We have dinner in this local Japanese on last Friday. The service is very good, they have kid’s menu with free drawings. The food is amazing! We order dragon roll , mix tempura,Topical Ole’ Tartare, salmon maki, yakitori with rice and story fly udon. The dragon roll is absolutely amazing, there are tempura king prawn and fresh salmon inside! It is so tasty! The rice to made the roll is soft and tender, I am sure they must use a good quality sushi rice. The mix tempura is fantastic as well , the coating is thin and crispy, the kids love it! The tartare is great too, it is a new way to combine topical fruit with salmon, it is delicious and refreshing. The udon and teriyaki chicken are tasty as well. For desert, we order Matcha Tiramisu, cheesecake and chocolate mousse The cheesecake is amazing , this is definitely the best cheesecake I ever had,I love the taste of yuzu, it is full of flavors. The Tiramisu and chocolate mousse are yummy as well. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have good knowledge about their foods. We have a very good dining experience in there !

On Sunday, as soon as we finished work, we sushi lovers walked through Forest Hill and noticed this little restaurant. from the tidy, clean exterior and with a window overlooking the kitchen....from there I glimpsed the chefs at work with their clean and tidy uniforms, this combination of things immediately encouraged me to enter. I ordered almost everything on the menu, which was also different from the usual ones I have seen and reviewed. Excellent service, the food was exciting....I was amazed by the care with which all the dishes arrived from the kitchen, I tried new tastes and new sensations. I want to offer my sincere compliments to this restaurant and all its staff. If this restaurant were in the center of London it could do mind-boggling numbers....naturally I would triple the prices..🤣 I will be back next week to try the fantastic specials on offer where I noticed an Italian touch!!!!!

I had a very poor experience ordering from Sushi Garden in Forest Hill yesterday. I've got a flyer from them which states (quote): FREE DELIVERY when you order via our app or website plus 10% OFF I was therefore surprised to find that the free delivery was not applied to my order, which I made a remark about under 'notes' when placing my order. I received a call confirming that I should have been granted free delivery, acknowledging that there was a mistake on their website, and that I could request a voucher to make up for it. I was happy with that and am not too concerned about £3, so I was going to leave it at that without requesting a refund/voucher. But what ensued was very disappointing. I've just received a call from a staff member who informed me that I did not qualify for free delivery, as my order totalled less than £20 (after the 10% were deducted). I paid £22 in total (including delivery), and had no idea that there was a minimum amount required to qualify for free delivery. If I had known, I would have purchased an extra item, which would practically have been free. When I mentioned to the staff member on the phone that there was no mention of a minimum £20 amount spend to qualify for free delivery, he insisted that it is evident on the website. It certainly wasn't to me, and I doubt it is to other customers who follow the QR code on the flyer to access the menu. It's neither mentioned on the flyer, nor on the menu, nor at checkout. I consider it to be very misleading advertising. But what is even more disappointing is that the staff member who I just spoke to was overall very dismissive and unwilling to account for the issue. Only when I mentioned writing a negative review did he offer to refund me the delivery fee. I also mentioned that I had waited for my order for over an hour, despite having received an email stating that delivery was expected to take 45 min. His reply was that "I should be more understanding". Overall it was a very...

DO NOT ORDER Made an order through just eat today Order was confirmed at 7.32pm The food arrived at 9.17 pm It took almost2 hours to get here - mind you the restaurant is around the corner from our house. We called the restaurant at 8.46 pm to check on where the order was as the app was saying it had been delivered??? The guy on the phone asked for reference number and said that the food had been dispatched and that it would be delivered in 2 minutes. Another 25 minutes later we gave a second call and this time a woman picked up the phone. She was not listening and was dismissive and even threatened to hang up the phone. It should be understandable that one would get frustrated when your food isn't delivered on time and you are waiting for your dinner to arrive when it hasn't. All it takes is to be honest and apologise for the inconvenience. But instead they lied about the food having been dispatched and later blaming the traffic (on a Tuesday evening) in the first place when it clearly hasn't. The driver even confirmed when he dropped it off that he only picked it up less than five minutes ago. All this to avoid getting a bad reputation on the app. Putting the food as "delivered" when it hadn't even been ready! Aweful customer service and the food was not great anyway so will never order from them...
