I come here for a cheap and cheerful Large Vegetarian Breakfast most weekends. I understand it’s a Wetherspoons, but on the RARE occasion that my order shows up correct it’s lovely. The amount of times I’ve had to send it back or complain about my partner’s order being wrong is just poor staff communication and lazy chefs. Today however, (11th Oct 2025) my order was ONCE AGAIN WRONG. I asked for scrambled eggs as per usual. But, because staff communication was TERRIBLE and the Chef was clearly inconvenienced by the customer…the chef refused to redo my eggs. To be clear… I ask for scrambled eggs as the chefs here are completely and utterly incapable of cooking fried Eggs. They’re awful. Always have been. Still are. It’s just lovely knowing that they couldn’t care less about their paying customers and service.

Do NOT go to this spoons if you are disabled, ESPECIALLY if you need level access. The sign outside says "This pub is fully accessible ♿" and then the wheelchair entrance is permanently locked. I have to sit staring at the door for a good 10 minutes and wait for someone to get a member of staff from the bar. I shouldn't have to ask a drunk stranger to do this every time I want to go to the pub. I have asked several times why there isn't a doorbell for wheelchair users, and staff shrug. I've asked if I can know the passcode as I require it to enter AND LEAVE and they said no. So basically in a fire, I'd have to ask someone to get a member of staff to let me out before the place is completely evacuated. This isn't accessibility and it isn't legal. Also the roast dinner yesterday was practically inedible.

I visited here for breakfast a couple of times, and it was really good, and endless coffee really steals the deal. The only trouble with it is the idiot customers, one of which had a lame attempt at chatting up my GF (only when I went to the toilet) and on another occasion an absolute idiot who thought he was something special giving it large to his very embarrassed GF about what a tough guy he was...and this was at about 0930 . Gotta love the good folk of Peckham. Otherwise food and the staff were both good.

If you like to freeze in a pub on a lunchbreak with cold food and bar srewards that for the most part act like they don't want to be there and complain they're too hot while all the customers look like they're freezing with coats, hats and scarfs on then this is the place for you. I was so cold it was phenomenal upon asking why it was necessary to have the air conditioning on when there was a freezing baltic wind outside I was made aware that it was to keep the kegs cold. ? . Hmmm Yeah right . " what in the basement!" . Shame really as I certainly will not be returning to this one. If I were the owner of a chain that it seems to be closing a lot their branches i would seriously have a word with the management of this one as we all know that the air con doesn't have to be on for that reason and the staff seem to just be catering for themselves instead of their patrons . Who by the way is the reason that they are are even there in the first place. Whatever happened to the customer always being right. Between the glass collecting gruffalo and the failed actress barmaid this place is terrible. I have read all the good reviews and one of them was also for cold food ( yum this cold food is great 5 stars ). My review is however honest and I am hoping that one of the managers, owner or regional manager reads this and can rectify the frosty welcome the freezing air and the overall attitude of the running of this historic establishment. Thanks...

SECOND REVIEW SEPTEMBER 2025 So after 4 years things may have changed I popped back to this place to get a quick breakfast! Order a full English breakfast. Sadly there was no mushroom on my plate!! However the lady who served me was vey friendly and bubbly young lady, she came and checked if my meal was ok.. wish I took her name because she up'd your ratings from last visit!!!

FIRST REVIEW 2021 Been here a few times and every time I've been served by staff who seem stressed out and give me attitude when responding. I went back hoping it would be better, but nope! The other week before lockdown there was a member of staff at the door and she was a bit rude in asking me to sign in and asked me to wear a mask as everyone else is, i looked across in the seating area and there were two men with no masks but had cans of Scrumpy Jack in theirs hands. I told the lady I'm just getting a takeaway and she ignored me. I don't plan on going back here and it’s sad because i see sooooo many good comments regarding the staff but I've not had a...

Overall this is an "OK" pub, however the staff hold a lackadaisical attitude. "Tim" has introduced a 'new member of staff' i:e the phone via the Wetherspoon App. to those who don't know what this is, you download the app to your phone and place your order. The 'app' gives priority to table service :-) However some staff are dinosaurs and reluctant to change. In other Wetherspoon pubs this 'app' works perfectly well, sadly not in The Kentish Drovers! The uniform this summer is a grey T shirt advertising this 'app' Tim is clearly going out to promote this, but it only works if staff members are suitably trained in it's implementation. On recent visits I have extremely slow service. I have also observed staff members "pressing the button" to cheat the system, this should be done to complete the "app" order and only then, to do this before and not getting the drink out in time is a deliberate act, reasons...
