I had a wonderful experience at this place with my family. Ms. Noemi, Italian lady, was very welcoming and kind, making sure everything was perfect, she is a treasure for this company. The walls have a beautiful colour, and the wallpaper adds a Victorian stylish touch. The power plugs colour are brilliant and are well-placed and convenient. The Victorian style sofas and cushions are very comfortable, making the space feel special and inviting. The tiles look elegant, and the welfare facility, wwwwoooowwww, valves, chair, and Victorian details oh my god, I love to live in that place, are well designed and clean. The proper Victorian paintings on the walls add a classic and charming feel to the place. The floor laminate colour is lovely, and the lights on the walls create a warm and pleasant atmosphere. We have ordered stakes, wwooowww there is no word to explain the quality of the welldone stake, dessert……. Ohhhh, pistachio souffle, ahhh , how can I explain it??? Everything on one hand, on the other hand, the Victorian window ROBS are a great addition, giving a sophisticated look. The tiles on the ordering area walls enhance the design beautifully. Lastly, the waiter and waitress outfits are smart and professional, making the whole experience feel even more special. Overall, a fantastic place with great experience. Strongly recommended to everyone.

I was really looking forward to making this new local pub a regular spot, but unfortunately my experience last night left a lot to be desired. I ordered a passionfruit martini (almost £12), which was served barely half full. I’d only had one sip when I politely raised it with the bartender, hoping for a quick and respectful resolution. Instead, I was met with rudeness and dismissiveness. He didn’t offer an apology or even an explanation — he simply walked away, leaving me feeling belittled and embarrassed, and made me feel as though I was just trying to get a free drink. After this me and my friends felt like we had to leave and went to another pub down the road where we had a much better experience As someone who genuinely wanted to support a new local business, this treatment was incredibly disappointing. A bit of basic respect and customer service goes a long way, especially in hospitality. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses how customers are spoken to and treated at the bar.

We were served by our waitress Louise who was very lovely. We went during a Tuesday evening and it was quiet which meant the food came quite quickly and the quality was very good. The restaurant is decorated quite nice and has outdoor seating with heated lamps. They are also dog friendly which was nice to see. I also ordered a ginger beer mocktail which was quite nice and would order again. We ordered a charcuterie board to share which was nice to share between three people. The fish skewers were alright but looked a little dry. The pork tomahawk and duck confit were very nice. We ordered a side of salad which should have some dressing in my opinion and the green beans were lovely. For dessert we ordered the lemon meringue tart and pistachio soufflé. Both of which were very good sizes and definitely great for the money you pay. Definitely will be going again. There are a couple spaces of parking but it’s better to park opposite the restaurant in the other car park near the river bank.

The refurbished PoW is a welcome addition to the area for me as I enjoy decent food and trying out new venues be they pubs or restaurants. I love the refurbishment and the ambience as the pub in its old form was looking very tired and jaded.

I had lunch there recently (on a Saturday) with a group of about 8 people. The staff were very welcoming both at the bar and at our table. The food took a while to come but, being a table of 8, there are inevitably different orders and requests. But the food was delicious and I would certainly return and recommend.

However, I have one beef and that concerns the fact that just 2 of us (from a table of 8) ordered follow-up drinks when we ordered our food. We waited . . and waited . . . . and waited . . . The order was just a glass of coke and a small carafe of red wine so it would have taken 2 minutes to prepare and serve. The restaurant wasn't that busy and neither were the bar staff who were laughing and chatting away to the serving staff. Eventually, I made an excuse to go to the toilet and, in passing, asked if they could serve our drinks please. Of course, the drinks then appeared but I shouldn't need to have asked. Not only does it show a drop in customer service but perhaps a lost opportunity to gain...

Management and staff have changed over the past 6 weeks . Extremely dismissive young ladies ( new staff ) at the bar . When you are ordering and being served food it appears to be an effort for the waitresses/ bar staff . There is a huge lack of communication, pace and “service with a smile” . Seems the staff are no longer equipped or efficient enough to provide reservations and a table service . (Many other regulars have noticed the change of staff . This place used to be friendly, fun and mistakes were genuinely rectified with smiles. )

Manager with blonde hair was helpful and rectified issues as best she could. But still appeared clueless when we reserved a table and then found people sat at it later on. She seems to be fighting fires alone and struggling . Yorkshire puddings burnt on the outside and raw on the inside . Pigs in blankets and apple crumbles burnt to a crisp . Food used to be good value and staff made it feel friendly - shame that it isn’t anymore . I walked out without paying for my dessert ( the one I was told I couldn’t order because they...
