I ordered the Beef and Red Wine Lasagne, which sounded promising on the menu: “Rich beef ragu layered with pasta and a Cheddar cheese sauce. Served with garlic flatbread and a dressed salad.” Unfortunately, the reality was worlds apart. What arrived was a single, lonely sheet of lasagne pasta with a few scattered dollops of beef mince — barely a ragu, and certainly nothing “layered” about it. The supposed Cheddar cheese sauce was nowhere to be seen, and the dish was more dry than rich. The “dressed salad” turned out to be six wilted lettuce leaves and a few stray bits of onion — no dressing, no care, no flavour. The garlic flatbread was passable, but by that point, the meal had already missed the mark. For the price and the pub’s setting, I expected something hearty and satisfying. What I got wouldn’t pass muster in a school canteen, let alone a paying venue. A real letdown.

Went on a Thursday for the steak offer, wished I’d gone across the road instead, 4th time in ten years we’ve said “we need to boycott this place” after trying again, they really shouldn’t offer what they can’t deliver, both steaks came out tough as old boots, with chips that hadn’t yet been defrosted, I think my Nan was cremated less … the sea bass with mini cocktail not king prawns, the only toss given was clearly to the steak cooked on both sides 50x

Highly impressed with the Sirloin Steak, was really delicious and super impressed with the value for money, got 40% off using a coupon from Mitchell’s and Butlers and 10% cashback from Ember Inns - I don’t expect that all the time - but for a £9.44 one off high quality steak - I will definitely be returning! Thank you! Staff were very friendly and helpful. You should be very proud of your team and this great pub!

Possibly the worst customer service ever Whilst I appreciate it wasn’t the staff members fault who contacted me it’s the lack of communication and common sense that amazes me We booked a table for 6 for Sunday roasts we were contacted 25 minutes before our booking to be told the roasts were unavailable ( this was a Sunday so the additional menu is pretty small told we have burgers !! ) the party had two members with dietary requirements meaning the rest of the menu was no good for them , given it’s a Sunday you would assume that they would know roasts would be the choice item for most people rather than over subscribing bookings so that there is no food available We were literally about to leave the house to go when we got the call. This was a birthday meal and we were left with nothing! Therefore the birthday was ruined and we had no meal for the evening. I appreciate that it’s subject to availability but they know the amount of covers booked in and didn’t cater for that don’t take bookings if you can’t fulfill them then offer to cook everyone burgers. Plus 25 minutes notice as to the fact you can’t fulfill the booking is atrocious. Sent and email to head office just think this is...

Called in for a meal after seeing good reviews on line. Very nice pub and quiet on arrival. Ordered 4 meals first 3 meals arrived - 1 was fine the 2nd arrved with veg that was aired it had never seen hot. 3rd arrived without the accompanying jug of gravy, told it would be 2mins with the 4th meal. After 10 minutes there was no sign of either. Went to speak to who I assumed was the land lady and she said that she would find out what had happened, at this point meal 3 was cold. So she said she would make a fresh 3rd meal and get the 4th made. A few minutes later she came to the table and gave the weakest apology ever - it was the chef that couldn't read the order, the member of staff serving for not checking talk about throw your staff under the bus. We then ordered desserts one without the chocolate sauce and one with custard. What arrived was one with chocolate sauce and one without custard. I appreciate that at the time we ordered desserts the pub was busier with some Christmas party diners, but it was only an order...

We visited and had lunch today at this pub and were very disappointed with the service. We ordered our meals via the QR code on the table. Our drinks were served quite quickly but then we waited and waited for our food. After 30 minutes I went up to the bar to ask how long our meals would be and was told by a staff member that due to staff shortages there would be a wait. I asked how much longer - the staff member stated only 10 minutes longer. In fact the food finally arrived after 60 minutes in total(!). At no time did any staff alert us to the late running times of meals or make any apology for the delay.

I did complain again to the server when the food finally arrived and he did apologise for the delay and offered us a complimentary drink. I appreciated the gesture but felt that should have happened anyway without me having to complain twice. My husband had ordered a salad which included avocado but it had none so had to be sent back!

Overall a disappointing visit and we feel reluctant to return after...
