I have been a regular here for decades but recently less and less as I just find it a bit dated and I feel bad energy when im in there.

Also I feel the salt beef is not as good as it used to be, but still once in a while I went in there.

Then a few weeks ago I decided to buy some salt beef by weight and it is just pure beef. This was the first time i bought it by weight and not in a sandwich .

To my astonishment he sliced the hot wet meat and put it in the paper he uses to wrap the sandwiches in.

By the time I got home to eat it all the juice had gone into paper and it was just so vile to open. It basically went dry very quickly and I could taste paper in the meat.

I'm thinking I just paid good money for this. It was something like £14. Would it have killed him to put the damn meat in a plastic container? It would have cost him 5 pence.

I really shouldn't have to say this. Its very obvious that you don't wrap wet hot food in paper.

I really wonder how many customers they lost by this Way of doing things.

The end

P.s. please find your passion again and.....

Tiny Nosh Bar near the Kwik Fit A406 end of Temple Fortune. You could do a lot worse than this little gem of a Salt Beef place. It's been serving simple no nonsense Salt Beef Sandwiches for as long as I can remember having £2.50 in my pocket that I could spend on a sandwich.

Of course it's a bit more these days but some things don't change. Rye bread, mustard and pickled cucumber - you can get soups and other stuff too - perfect!

It's been owned by several people over the years, an old Greek Cypriot man at one time but I think he sold out to a Pole. It's still fairly good although I much prefer B&K in Edgware. The atmosphere in this place is awful at times so it's 3...

One of the very few Salt Beef places that are surviving in London. Love this place and always try to pop in whenever passing by. Hot Salt beef in Rye bread tastes the best to me. Very polite staffs and taking tame and care to prepare the sandwiches/rolls infront of you. Removes the fat in almost surgical way! But i like a bit of fat on my beef so all I have to do is just ask! Latkes are really nice and fresh. Great shape to give the most crunch. Always fried to order. Many other traditional middle Eastern/Israeli Kosher food.

Great food great service. Very reasonable price and Everyone is welcomed. I am not Jewish and I have been enjoying going there...

Heimisha food at its best, like you'd find in the old east end or in a downtown New York deli. Decent prices, though a single pickled cucumber, to go with your salt beef sandwich, is an extra £1 which is unnecessary. Otherwise the menu is just missing kishke, kugel and a range of different pickled cucumbers, and cans of cream soda. Service could be better, the workers are a bit miserable and look like they would rather be in a war zone. Tasty and fresh though, would recommend a visit.

Great little bagel shop. Authentic Kosher, Salt Beef and tongue bagels/ rye bread. Good quality and cheap. Definitely prepared on site as you can see the pots and pans steaming away. Has an old school feel about it. The customer service is somewhat lacking; so next time I return, I expect the same level of cold indifference and I will give them a 5 Star Rating for consistency. It does what it says on the sign above the door. This is local to me and we will go back. Thank you.
