When friends you’ve known for decades invite you to watch football together—especially when there’s a chance of laughing at Arsenal’s expense—there isn’t much to think about. The answer was an immediate yes.
The atmosphere at The Seven perfectly suited the occasion. After warm greetings, we clinked glasses and settled in for the Manchester United v Arsenal match. I had a crisp, ice-cold pint of Moretti, while my friends opted for everything from 0% Guinness to shandy. Drinks were served at just the right temperature—refreshing and spot on for a warm London day.
By half-time, hunger set in, and we ordered a selection of dishes: • Tandoori Chicken Wings – Marinated in a hot and spicy masala and served with chilli chutney. Perfectly fine, though nothing particularly memorable. • Chicken Tikka – Yoghurt, Kashmiri chilli, and tandoori spices. Again, acceptable, but very much the standard fare you’d find in countless places across London. • Garlic & Chilli Tilapia Fish – Easily the standout dish of the evening. Succulent, spiced beautifully, and elevated by sautéed onions and peppers. Paired with garlic naan, this was an absolute highlight. • Karahi Lamb – Rich and aromatic, though a little underwhelming compared to versions I’ve had elsewhere. • Paneer Tikka Masala – Creamy, tomato-based, and pleasant enough, though ultimately bland. It leaned too heavily on texture, lacking the depth of flavour I usually expect.
What The Seven might lack in standout Indian cuisine, it makes up for in setting and service. The spacious outdoor grounds, the warm weather, and the buzz of children playing while football streamed across multiple screens created a lively and relaxed backdrop.
Most importantly, the staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm in their manner. Their smiles and good humour gave the whole place an inviting, community feel.
In short, The Seven is not where I’d go for a refined Indian dining experience, but it is where I’d gladly return for an afternoon of football, drinks, and good company. It’s the kind of place that makes catch-ups with old friends feel easy...
Read moreWent to The Seven on a Friday evening, considering it was a Friday, the pub wasn't that busy (bit I did go for early dinner). We were greeted and shown to our table straight away. Our service was relatively quick, food take take long to come at all. For starters, I had ordered chilli garlic mogo, vegan chilli chicken, tandoori prawns and samosa chaat. I absolutely LOVED the chilli garlic mogo, it was so crispy and flavoursome. The vegan chilli chicken was also delicious. I didn't try the prawns but I heard that was amazing. The samosa chaat was strictly okay, let's just say I wouldn't order that if I go back. By this point I was stuffed so for mains, I only ordered a vegetable biryani and that was banging! I loved the flavour, it came with raita which complemented the biryani really well. My only bug bearer about the food in general was that it wasn't piping hot, I like my food to come with steam coming off it, all the food items were just warm. Then I went to try out the shisha lounge, it's a comfy, cosy setting with a lovely ambience, the outdoor heaters really did help in the cold. I was waiting a while after ordering the shisha for it to come, it did come quite quickly after having chased for it, but by this point the shisha lounge was really busy. Here I decided to have fresh mint tea (it was fresh mint leaves in hot water) and it was the best drink post dinner! I also ordered the chocolate fudge cake which came with ice cream and that was so indulgent. I was meant to be sharing it but ended up practically finishing it myself. A big shout out to one of the members of staff, unfortunately I didn't get her name (stupid me), but she was really friendly, she greeted us at the door and escorted us to our table. She also served us at the shisha lounge and gave the recommendation for the desserr! Thank you for giving us...
Read moreAdded more as celebrated Mother’s Day at The Seven (regulars now!) Food & service was excellent. Staff lovely. Suggestions: Please give a bowl of water atleast to the dogs (there were three today). Try to introduce some papadoms on the house and an after meal freshener. On occasions a small gesture would go a long way like a small something on tables or a note saying Happy Mother’s Day? Singer was singing away but did move ahead to capture a snapshot of him signing.
