The Village Bakery — Restaurant in London

i’ve lived in walthamstow for years and today thought i’d finally pop in to grab a quick lunch bite. the staff were friendly and helpful. however slightly horrified to then find out the overly simple baguette i’d ordered (part my fault - i panicked in a state of hunger and in doing so picked the world’s most boring fillings of just plain chicken and salad) would be £7.50! even more horrified to find out when opening it at home to find out its very clearly one of those pre half-baked baguettes - that (let alone it not even being fresh bread) doesn’t even seem to have had its second 1/2 bake and so soft and stale). a shame as very up for supporting local and their cakes...

I work very close to the bakery. Always look forward to lunch from here, service with a friendly atmosphere, friendly staff The food is of a very high standard, prepared in a clean environment. Have seen previous reviews, I would advise people ignore the negativity.. This place, I have recommeded to many of my colleagues and friends who attend often. I wish the staff the best of luck.. I dunno why there are some bad reviews as the rolls are well filled with lovely ingredients, the service for eating in is great, and the staff friendly. The meatballs are wonderful. The boss, Sam, and her colleagues have been doing a great job for years. The place is spotless. Good options for all tastes and not pretentious and dear like some places along that road.
