Had a draught beer that was served warm, after it was said to a waiter, he brought half glass of the same beer and said if it is same temperature for me, bar manager said it is fresh cage and that is it, and asked me to give him that half glass back- manager asked. Why, selling it again after I tried? Anyhow I ended up paying for a pint of beer that I had only sip from, which isn't the point. Point is payment was take by a female manager/supervisor who was aware of a situation and just simply said "sorry about that". Just need to work very hard on a customer experience and welcoming your guests.. not a first time I had under average experience but this time really made me write a review..
Unfortunatelly, I am not able to reply on previous review (one above), so here you go reply (below).
Thank you for your reply. This was second pint in my life that I sent back, first time was years ago when was served in a pint glass with big mark of red lipstick on it, and this is my second time, beacuse of the temperature. True, ideal temperature for this beet is 10-12°, and you claimed that your pint was served on 14°, even seemed more degrees to me, but even if it was only 2 , you should have said that before or while serving it. That's in case I believe what you say about the situation, but you are claiming that you spoke with all 3 people serving us - that's where you lost my trust. If you spoke to them, you would know we didn't have any coffee to drink, and the worst thing of all is you sent 17 year old boy to talk to me instead of sending manager, supervisor or yourself to deal with situation.
Why I gave you 1 star? More than 1 reasons. My friend ordered half pint of Guinness- she got a pint. No complaint there, we kept beer. Moscow mule was served with 3-4 ice cubes, and wasn't right temperature either. No complaint there, I kept it. London pride was definitely WARM! Worst one I ever tried. After 3 failed orders, I ordered pint of Guinness and finally got it right. Your staff member- same 17yo boy, was mixing mayo with mayo light, to finish half empty bottles. Now there are many questions raised. Was it the same expiry date? Are the allergens the same Do people want to eat full fat mayo without knowing it? Etc. But I don't blame him, he's probably doing what he was said. Few managers passed by, saw him doing it and said nothing. Another manager member was taking in a rude way to girl dressed in black uniform to move like 4 meters away and to stay there.
There was more things that I could mention, but this is more enough to give you 1 star review. Btw when I spoke to someone lady manager/supervisor I said I'm okay to pay if that's necessary, but beer was warm and I didn't drink it. Why would anyone be happy to pay for someone wasn't used? And it wasn't pint and a half as you said. Once I was brought this half pint to taste was it the same temperature, young boy asked me to give it back to him because his manager asked him to bring him that back.
I wish you good luck , which you obviously need if you deal with...
Read moreThe pub offers a lovely setting and atmosphere with a beautiful terrace and patio. But, the booth on the patio was dirty.
Poor value for money. I ordered a plate containing a Rib Eye Steak , fries and salad for £28. Nothing justified the price. The meat was small and underseasoned, the fries (small portion) and salad were not exceptional. At this price, you won't eat the best fries of your life and it would be better for you to keep this money to eat in a tastier restaurant. The menu prices are clearly overpriced for such basic and tasteless dishes. My dish should have cost £15 instead of £28.
The waiter slightly inflated the bill to £38.24 instead of £38.19 (RIB eye at £28 + cider at £5.95 + service charges at 12.5% = £38.19)
1 hour later, as I was leaving, a waitress asked me if I had already paid as if I was a potential runner. I found it very insulting.
To respond to the owner's unprofessional and rude comment published on Monday 18th august and finally changed on Tuesday 19th august. He/She didn't hesitate to lie in the first comment by thanking me for coming to his establishment to pursue a therapy. The benches were dirty, and even if the pub is crowded, it's the staff's job to ensure everything is clean. My worry is not due to a trauma, as you said in your first comment; it's what we call hygiene and cleanliness. No!! Mr./Mrs. Owner, I didn't come back from South Africa, South America or the USA (as you said in your first comment), where the portion of fries would be bigger (as you mentioned it in your first comment), to realize that the quantity of fries was ... ridiculous for £28. So no, Mr./Mrs. Owner, I cannot adjust my expectation (as you rudely suggested in your first comment) to a £28 mediocrity!!!
If you appreciate the points I shared and take them seriously, why did you publish a rude comment against me on 18th August??? The tone you used was really not the same as in your...
Read moreThe service was Appalling! My son got married on Friday, the 23rd. I phoned about 3 weeks prior to this and spoke to the manager and asked if they could make the table look nice and celebratory as, due to coronavirus, the wedding was so small (I was the only guest), and I wanted to make the day as special as possible. I phoned on Tuesday, the 20th, and spoke to an employee and asked if she could check with the manager that the table would look nice and to ask if it would be possible for them to organise a small cake, which they could add on to the bill. I received no reply. On Friday we arrived, we were shown to a table facing, and right next to, the plastic marquee which, with the sunlight, meant we were blinded. I then told the waiter that I had asked if a nice table could be set up for them and his first words were, "You didn't speak to me", followed by, "I got a message on Tuesday about making the table look nice but I didn't know what you meant". I asked for a table under the marquee which was given. Ordered 2 grilled lobsters and a burger. The drinks order took ages, the food took ages, my lobster wasn't cooked through, nobody came once to check if the food was alright, if we needed more drinks - in fact, when we had finished, I had to go up to the check out to ask for the bill. 3 men at another table paid for a round of drinks for us to congratulate my son and his new wife - many thanks to them. None of the staff cared or were interested or could be bothered. A totally foul experience that was the low point of the day and will not be remembered as a celebratory meal, just a...
