Food Room — Restaurant in London

I’ve been a loyal customer of this café for years and have always appreciated its atmosphere and their amazing chef and the owners offerings . However, I had a deeply disappointing experience today. I arrived at 3:06 PM, fully expecting to be served, as the café advertises it is open until 4 PM. To my surprise, I was told that they stop serving at 3 PM.

While I understand establishments have policies, this crucial detail isn’t mentioned on their website. Having driven half an hour to get there, I felt let down. A simple update to their website or clearer communication would prevent this kind of misunderstanding.

I’ve always valued this café, but being turned away so abruptly, despite being just a few minutes past the cutoff, felt unnecessarily rigid and unkind. It’s disappointing to see a long-time customer treated this way. I hope they can appreciate loyal customers a bit more going forward- working with the public you would hope they could be a little kinder . Very upsetting and unnecessary as I been...

Friendly service paired with amazingly fresh food (veggie friendly) and a cosy atmosphere.

Such a fine addition to Highgate. Although small, by no means is this a put off as the service is fast and the spacing helps create a quiet cosy atmosphere. The waitress is very friendly and polite and has a fine understanding of hospitality and makes you feel at home from the moment you walk in. I'd recommend this place to all locals and anyone stopping by for a coffee, tea or even a quick bite. The 'Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich' is a must try!

This has quickly become my favourite cafe in Highgate, my only issue would be the pricing which can seem to high at times, especially hard to justify when getting a take-away. But I have never felt any feeling of disappointment upon leaving so I'm willing to live with it, well done Food Room...

Polish run small café restaurant on Archway Road opposite Highgate Tube station.

Though I believe mainly or entirely staffed by Polish people they have been flexible in modifying the items on offer so that people know they can get things they like and which are safe to eat. There are always vegetarian and vegan items, I've heard of no cases of people having problems caused by nuts or other allergens. The management are clearly concerned to give people what they want and which will.not cause problems.
