I'm no expert and I eat fried food once every blue moon, but after living in New Malden for a few years and trying Korean fried chicken from different establishments in the area, I have to declare this my absolute favourite!!! We ordered a takeaway last week and couldn't believe how good that was! First of, staff was really nice and polite, food is cooked fresh upon ordering and portions are very generous (we couldn't believe the size of our boxes when we got home!) really fairly priced too. We ordered the boneless "half & half" option on the menu to try two different flavours (for us, Original and Yangnyeom) with two sides of chips (in retrospect, one portion of chips would have been more than enough to share!). Everything was perfectly packed for a take out and the chicken also came with a little pot of special salt. The Original flavour was great! Super crunchy, crispy coating and not greasy at all, whilst the meat was cooked perfectly and still super juicy. No sogginess in sight and sooo tasty! The Korean Spices flavour was a different kind of great, the sticky kind of goodness type where the coating is soft and you have to lick your fingers at the end to really and truly enjoy it. I was told this was a medium spicy, and I personally can't deal with hot food too well, but I found the sauce started with a sweet taste followed by a really manageable chilli aftertaste paired with a hint of garlic. Side chips were huge and cooked really well too - no sogginess or greasiness. The food portions were so big we had enough leftovers for a small sharing lunch next day. The pictures don't make it justice, but this is definitely my local go-to place from now onwards for kfc and I can't wait for my family to try it once they're able to travel to the UK form oversea!

This is the spot I come to whenever I crave Korean fried chicken, their yangnyeom chicken tastes like home. 1. Batter. Unbelievably crispy, and remains crispy even when dipped fully in the sauce. 2. Chicken. I’ve tried both boneless and bone, and the meat here is always so juicy and tender. 3. Flavours. The flavours, the sauces - just perfect. Their yangnyeom is a classic and it tastes like home, white spices is unique (savory, cheesy, and spicy), garlic soya is sweet and savoury. Their new flavour, honey combo (wings), is so yummy too! Sweet, savoury, and crispy. 4. Tteokbbokki. Tastes like home too. Definitely get one, and try dipping the chicken in the sauce for a different taste! 5. Portions. Biiiiig portions! 6. Their homemade radish (“chicken mu”) is a game changer too, so refreshing! Highly recommended to anyone who would like to try authentic Korean fried chicken.

The best Korean fried chicken in town, no doubt. Expect to wait because it's only a small shop and the food was made fresh. Food - Juicy and beautifully marinated chicken, you can tell the difference from the first bite. Ordered original KFC and white spice. For the sides we had the rose rice cake and their pickles, again, spot on. They ran out of sweet potato fries so we got normal fries, which was so good! Definitely worth the wait. Service - The male manager and his other female colleague were very helpful and attentive. Maybe 30 mins wait on a Friday night. We were turned down from the first restaurant we went so this wait was nothing and the food made the wait so worth it. They provided gloves! Totally the Asian way to wat KFC. Atmosphere - Chic decor. Reminds me of those random little fried chicken shops I went to in Seoul. We will be back again for sure!

TL;DR: THE LONG WAIT IS WORTH IT!

This isn’t FAST food. Expect to wait 30 min for 1 basket of fried chicken. You will be able to tell he makes it fresh! The menu is not updated; he now offers just a whole or half chicken apparently. I’ve heard him refuse customers before as he doesn’t do individual parts anymore eg drums, wings only He also doesn’t sell just extra sauces on the sides. You could try asking for your sauces on the side if you buy flavoured ones. However they all rock, so don’t bother. Just eat it as is! The original is banging!

Been there 3 times so far in 1 month! I think that speaks for itself. Found it by chance on the way to H Mart. The first time, we were shocked at how long it took for food to arrive. It took close to 35 min on a weekday, with a few deliveries in between. We waited because we saw the ladies across us, who were here before us, only get their food just 10 min before ours arrived. So glad we waited because boy, the best fried chicken ever! We tried the yangnyeom and original which were so good! And I’ve been LOOKING EVERYWHERE for good Korean style crunch! This is it! It was so good that we came back again that weekend. It also took 30 min exactly and the honey butter was lovely although too sweet for me to order again. Many people came in and out. It was popular. And we went a 3rd time 2 weeks later and tried garlic soy. It was amazing! The chicken is juicy in all parts, the crunch was just CRUNCHY, and the owner was very kind to chat or assist us if we needed anything (like gloves, wipes, etc.) since they don’t have a sink.

Overall, I can’t wait to go back again. Return on a weekday. I think that’s better. Or be prepared to wait 30-45 min. Can’t blame a guy who believes in making things fresh from scratch!...

Absolule appalling service from the Owner.

Went in store to place a takeaway order. Was told 20 minutes as they were busy. Went to collect order after 30 minutes to give them extra breathing space.

Was told bluntly and rudely, its not ready yet and just wait. After a 10 minute wait a korean woman comes in to collect her order which was done via whatsapp. Owner was all smiley and chatty to her.

After 50 minutes I have had enough and complain and say you told me 20 minutes. All he kept saying was, its Friday Saturday, Friday Saturday. Yes I am fully aware what day of the week it is. And Yes I know its busier on weekends. However don't accept an order if you dont think you can fulfill the order on time.

At that point he reconfirms my order, after 10 minutes, so 1 hour in total late he brings out the food. No apology at any point for making a customer wait an hour for a COLLECTION.

This type of service is not acceptable as it is blatant he prioritised the deliver orders and "Korean customers" The chicken here is only average and I certainly won't be going back. And certainly if you are not korean, expect absolute appalling service.

If you are craving chicken in New Malden, go to Yami, if you want the best korean chicken make your way to CheeMc! Avoid this place...
