I have been a regular customer at Vicki's Caffe for quite some time now, and while the location and ambiance of the café are delightful, I have recently become increasingly concerned about the management's behavior towards their staff. As a customer, it is disheartening to witness such unprofessional conduct, particularly when it occurs in front of other patrons.
On several occasions, I have observed the managers of this establishment openly berating and yelling at their staff members, often in full view of customers. What makes matters worse is that many of the staff members are non-English speakers, which amplifies the discomfort and highlights a lack of cultural sensitivity and respect. Treating employees in such a manner is not only discourteous but also reflects poorly on the establishment as a whole.
I believe that constructive criticism or discussions between management and staff should be conducted privately, out of sight of paying customers. This would ensure that the atmosphere remains pleasant and welcoming for everyone who visits the café. However, the public reprimands and harsh treatment I have witnessed are simply unacceptable.
As much as I enjoy the café itself, these recurring incidents have made me uncomfortable and hesitant to continue patronizing Vicki's Caffe. I sincerely hope that the management takes note of this feedback and takes immediate steps to rectify these issues. Improving the working environment and treating staff members with dignity and respect will not only create a more positive atmosphere for customers but also demonstrate a commitment to professionalism and fair treatment.
It is my genuine desire that Vicki's Caffe addresses these concerns promptly, as it has the potential to be an outstanding café if the management can ensure a respectful and harmonious work...
Read moreVisited 3 times, the first was incredible. Great service, the owner was warm & Welcoming , I appreciated that. However, most recently thereâs a very aggressive âchefâ who I think wants to be Gordon Ramsey. He is so rude and dismissive to customers.Shouting at his colleagues, believing if he ends his patronising sentence with âbabeâ to a female colleague itâs somehow ok! Staff look unhappy itâs a small place and so awkward for customers having to witness this bullying behaviour. Iâm also upset that as a woman of colour he ignored me in favour of a white woman whilst I waited for my change, (as he was so busy shouting at his colleagues again heâd forgotten to give it to me). The customer apologised to me & he dismissed me saying to her â Oh no,sheâs fine!â Leaving me stunned, I reminded him that I was actually still waiting for my change! He comes across as incredibly stressed Perhaps needs a lie down. Ruins the ambiance sadly. I have some points since your surprising reply. You do realise that this is a public platform? Itâs constructive feedback. You describe my feeling of being treated less favourably as something I âdidâ It is something I FELT! âGENUINELYâ. And even you cannot argue with ones feelings. I am not ashamed at all, quite the contrary. Bullying another human being & causing humiliation is appalling & shameful. This place is quite clearly the fiefdom of an egomaniac! You left out that you have a black friend by the way! So cliche. Foods good though! And I appreciate your...
Read moreThis was a totally rewarding experience. And the food was really great. Here's why.
It's Sunday, and I'm heading for street food at Portobello. But Vicky's is open and looks rather inviting. I decide to give it my first go.
My sandwich has everything I need in it. I didn't need to bite into it to know that this was going to be a love thing. But I'm hungry: so I bit into it. Anyway.
It's packed with everything a body needs including a degradable bag and tissues. I eat it in the 23 bus and its all gone by the time I reach Paddington.
The chef is clear, communicative and authoritative. Complaints about his work ethic in other reviews are not even worth considering. Have they not heard of Marco or Gordon?
Or Fanny Craddock telling Johnny off or Rick Stein? Or read AA Gill or Giles Coren? It's a business, it's an open kitchen and if you dont get orders right your food gets burnt.
(These lazy middle class degenerates probably think that Jamie Oliver's the lovliest jubliest show in town. Tw*ts.)
Vicky ran the business first of all. She retired, went to Cornwall, didn't work out, came back. A new franchise opens in Queen's Park.
Meanwhile, my chef not only runs the business: he's lived his whole life in the this business. If anyone knows what's what, it's this man.
If you're too lazy to make breakfast for yourself (that would include almost all middle class degenerates) take a tip from an uppity working class Black guy: Dont talk.
Just eat. At...
