I recently dined at Wallingtonpizzeria, and overall, it was a mixed experience. Here’s a detailed rundown of my visit:
Ambience The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere and wasn’t too busy, which made for a comfortable dining experience. The decor was inviting, and the lighting was just right for a relaxed evening out.
Service The service was average—not exceptional, but not terrible either. The staff were courteous but not particularly attentive or engaging. Given the restaurant’s price range, there is certainly room for improvement.
Food Unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. Here's a breakdown of what we had:
Starters: Calamari (6/10): The calamari was just okay. It was clear that it wasn’t fresh, and the breading was subpar, falling off easily. Freshness and proper breading are essential for good calamari, and this dish missed the mark. Goat Cheese Flatbread (7.5/10): The flatbread was decent but not memorable. It didn’t taste homemade, which was a bit disappointing, but the flavors were acceptable.
Mains: Pasta Carbonara (3/10): This was the biggest letdown of the night. As someone who appreciates authentic Italian cuisine, I was highly disappointed. The sauce tasted premade, akin to something you’d find at Tesco, and the ham used was far from pancetta—it was more like sandwich ham. This dish would likely horrify an Italian. Seafood Risotto (7/10): The risotto was passable but lacked the freshness I expected for the price. While it was edible, it didn’t leave a lasting impression.
Drinks The drinks were a significant disappointment: Campari and Aperol Spritz (3/10): Coming from a bartending background, it was immediately clear that the drinks were diluted and contained very little alcohol. Wallington Dream Cocktails (0/10): These were essentially strawberry puree and lemonade. Even with the buy-one-get-one-half-price offer, the quality was poor and seemed like a tactic to maximize profit by cutting corners on the alcohol content.
Ratings: Calamari: 6/10 Flatbread: 7.5/10 Risotto: 7/10 Carbonara: 3/10 Spritz: 3/10 Wallington Dream Cocktails: 0/10
Conclusion Overall, I would rate the entire experience a 4 out of 10. Given the cost of £73 for what we were served, the cost-to-benefit ratio was not favorable. I won’t be returning, as there are many other places offering better value for money. I hope the management takes these points into consideration to enhance their patrons'...

We were seated promptly, despite being slightly early for our booking. Would've linked to have sat outside in the covered area but the table sizes didn't seem to allow for that.
Plenty of room in the restaurant, nice ambience, busy and clearly a popular place to dine.
Our waitress, wish I'd caught her name, was spot-on all night. Not 1 mistake all night, she was attentive, checked in on us throughout the evening, and we weren't left waiting for anything. This really helped make the night, so thank you.
The food quality was excellent, the kids (slightly fussy at times) loved their meals, quantities were good, no-one was disappointed or left hungry.
The menu is varied, and our vegetarian had no issues choosing meal either.
A lovely touch for my Birthday, with the dessert, really helped end the night on a high.
Really competent and attentive staff, despite the place being really busy; service times were spot on.
Overall, our party had a fantastic night, an easy 5-star rating. Will go back, probably again and again.
Another visit, another successful night out. Party of 4, sat outside in the covered area, which was lovely in the heat, despite the rain around.
4 different pizzas ordered, all really tasty, filling but pretty light. Enjoyed the staters and desserts too.
Pretty reasonably priced and the service was un-fussy and spot on all night.
Never happy with anyone 'vaping' within an area where food is being eaten by others, but as this country is pretty-much lawless right now.... Know the rules/laws and enforce them for all, but other than that a cracking night.
Will go again for sure.
Have returned several times since, and will again.
The atmosphere is always good, the service is excellent and always with a smile, which is often missing from other restaurants these days, and the food is perfect every time.
Thank you to the staff for my most recent Birthday visit,...
Read moreI had arranged to meet my friend here today but unfortunately had leave before I arrived. This is why : My friend wrote I have used this Pizzeria regularly over the past few years; in particular with a largish group of friends once a year. Had aways had good, friendly service, some gentle banter and the food was always good. However, today (1st March) I went there to meet a friend - so far so good. However, I asked if the music could be turned down to which the Manager (as I was later to learn) said not to turn it down too much; well that started a big row as he said that he was the owner/manager and only he could say what happens in his restaurant. Told me in no uncertain terms that I should not be telling him what to do in his restaurant, it was his restaurant and only he could say what happens within it. I could not believe how rude he was and pointed this out to him; he said he didn't care and that I should leave his restaurant. His customer service is something I have never experienced anywhere in my (rather) long life. So me an my friend left his very empty restaurant - and I will never go back nor will I ever recommend it - such a shame because it was somewhere where I enjoyed going and had no hesitation in recommending to friends and acquaintances. I am sure the staff are fine, but the Manager.....!
On my return journey home (around 2.30pm), having eaten in a great cafe in Beddington Gardens (highly recommended) with very friendly staff and excellent food, the Pizzeria was still empty! That tells you something. The cafe was full and very busy.
DO NOT EAT HERE. The manager obviously has a high opinion of himself and absolutely no respect for his...
