stumbled upon this cafe/bar as I was walking through Rotherite running errands and needed a place to sit down and rest. This place is almost perfect, as you enter the venue, the air is fresh and cool and nicely air conditioned. the tables, floor and the bar are squeaky clean, so are the bathrooms. the design is amazing - industrial, sleek, rustic and modern with some fancy pieces. I ordered iced almond latte and mushroom sourdough - and was blown away by the food. The iced latte was refreshing, earthy with a nutty but sweet taste. they used a bamboo straw which was a nice idea! now the food was my favourite part - it was chestnut mushrooms sautéed in some sauce (?) on a delightful crispy and toasted slice of sourdough. the parsley that was sprinkled on it was some of the most fragrant and flavourful parsley I've tasted in London cafes. the dish had a smokey, earthy yet tart taste. Yes, it's a little expensive - but if you'd like to pay less, go to a chain coffee shop like costa, cafe Nero or Pret. you get what you pay for. the coffee and flavours combined with the design, customer service and atmosphere makes it worth it to me. It's a shame that I live so far away, otherwise I'd be coming here every week.

Came for a drink on a Wednesday night with a friend and had a lovely relaxed time. While you’ll definitely notice the decor (who could miss a life-size baby giraffe holding a chandelier?!) more important is the comfy relaxed seating. There is space and it doesn’t feel as though there is an attempt to squeeze people in. It has a ‘bring your Mac and coffee’ vibe but the sign about no laptops suggests awareness of this with a view to encouraging community. Drinks seem well-priced and it’s great to see local beers on offer (Brockley brewery), though seemingly not on tap. Two drinks with change from a tenner is average, especially for somewhere so nice. Speaking of the decor, while a bit ‘concrete and glass’ industrial, it surprisingly has a warm feel. There’s no sense of being blasted by an fan or frozen in the name of being stripped back. It felt a bit like a stylish living room and despite being quite strong visually it blended into the background. The staff member on hand was friendly, a family with a young kid came a bit later and it was just simple. It’s firmly on my list to visit again and a great place to meet up. Next time I’ll try the food - seems pancakes are a winner.

what your charged is higher than what’s on the menu & this is irrespective of you eating in or out! I’ve been twice I thought it was a mistake the first time but looked past it. Second visit I went in with my daughter & was served rock hard sourdough bread. I’m not one to complain I really hate doing so. I tried my best to eat what I could but when it came to my two year olds turn to eat her cheese toastie from the kids menu it was also rock hard! It could not be cut through with a knife if you tried! Which I did. Where I can go hungry my child cannot & shouldn’t have to, so of course I had to complain. Staff came over and I showed her me putting all my force in to slice a piece of bread & it not budging even the tiniest bit! Another staff member came over & insisted that’s how it should be… rock hard. I ask if it was ok to switch my daughter meal into a hot dog as both meals I purchased weren’t edible. We was sat there for 30 min waiting & no one bought a hot dog over. When I got up to ask if it was being made I was told “yes but it’ll also be hard and my daughter may not be able to eat it. Found that very rude! Not to mention my chai latte which is mostly just milk with a little flavouring was served warm & not hot. Maybe there was a confusion with the baby chino temperature I’m not sure. Overall I had to tell them not to worry about the hot dog as the wait was excessive & my daughter was starving. I wasn’t even looking to request a refund! Like I said I hate complaining but before I was even given the option a staff member responded to me cancelling the hotdog with “well you’ve eaten some of the food before complaining so there nothing we can do”. Not wanting to be branded an “angry black women” I left politely and just knew it’s not a place I’ll ever go again! Menu is already overpriced but then your charged extra anyways! Food quality terrible!!!! Staff the worst. What I thought would be my regular spot as my daughter attend the nursery directly opposite needs to be shut down! 1 stars for ambiance decor is lovely! And the second star for helping my charge my phone upon arrival. The pear tree is within the same development. I’m yet to order food there but the drinks & customers service has never...

I have been to Wolfy’s a few times now for coffee however this morning’s visit will be my last. The girl working at the counter was so rude. Firstly, no acknowledgement of me walking in and I was the only one there. Instead, I got a death stare because she had to stop whatever she was doing in the moment. I ordered a latte to go like always, she did not respond or anything but just input my order on the tablet to pay - it was more than what it should have been so I was confused and when I noticed she got a cup of ice I said I just want a regular latte, not an iced latte - the number of eye rolls I got and the way she slammed the cup down was shocking. After she aggressively handed me my drink, she didn’t even offer to refund the difference of the overcharge. Not that it’s a huge amount, but it’s the principle behind it. To top it off, the coffee she made was so horrible that it was undrinkable. No surprise as it took her 10seconds to make my coffee. Needless to say the coffee was so bitter and acidic and the milk was barely steamed or frothed. One of the worst coffees ever.

It showed in her presence and attitude how she did not want to be there and made me feel like I was bothering her because she had to work at 7:30am on a Friday. Bad vibes.

It is such a shame that all it takes is one staff member to make you not want to go back and tarnish your opinion on a place despite how good your past...

This was my second time trying to come in for brunch and it's a bit of a gamble as sometimes they are incredibly busy with no seating. The server was amazing, super friendly and quick; I'm a bit specific with my coffee order and he apologised several times as he wasn't unsure he made it to my liking, but it was perfect from the beginning. I've worked in the coffee industry for years and I can say their coffee is quite decent. Food was incredible, typical brunch with a bit of a twist and you can tell the ingredients had amazing quality.

Why 4 stars then? Well, pricing is a bit high. One coffee with avocado toast was around 20£. All orders have added a mandatory service charge (at least on the tablet I was giving to pay there was no option to remove it) and you are asked to add a tip on top of that through the tablet(american starbucks style). All these even before I was seated, placing the order at the counter as I would at McDonalds. I always tend to leave tips anyway, but I though it was a bit too much taking into account that the base price is high, you got service charge and a tip, even before you know if the service or the food is good. Maybe something that management can look into because I started with a sour taste what for the rest of the visit was an...
