Zafran, Indian Restaurant, Croydon — Restaurant in London

Went here as everywhere else was closed and my dog was at the groomers next door. The restaurant was completely empty and yet when I said we just wanted have a drink and small bite they tried to put us on the table that is the waiting table for delivery drivers (no cutlery plates glasses or anything on the table next to the front door), we asked for a table in the restaurant and the waiter got upset and then felt forced to seat us in the actual venue with table with cutlery on it. We ordered a starter and 2 poppadoms and 2 drinks. The poppadoms were not the correct ones we ordered also extremely stale, the starter was small and lacked flavour. But the worst part was the service. They almost felt angry we had asked for a table inside the restaurant. The glass of wine was definitely poured at a lesser measure, the waiter also brought And charged us for a chutney tray we didn’t order. When we asked why that was they said it comes with the poppadoms which is not true as it is separate on the menu and at an extra cost. again, we said we didn’t ask for it and barely ate it as we ordered two individual poppadoms they kept arguing about charging us for. In the least they should indicate or ask if didn’t suggest ordering the chutney tray. You cannot simply provide an item and decide to charge for it without it being asked for. I asked for water they brought a single glass of water with smelly ice. Overpriced stale flarvourjess food with bad service and terrible terrible ambience. Disgusting customer service! Ordered a variety of curries for ourselves and the kids totalling £41. Told to deliver would be an hour or collect would be 30 minutes. My sister chose to collect yet was left waiting in the restaraunt for a further 30 minutes. After ringing to find out why it was taking so long they gave her a bottle of coke for the length of time however on recieving the order we found it to be incomplete. I rang the restaraunt again and explained. After being told to wait many time I was finally passed to the manager who was extremely rude. Accused me of wanting a free curry because of the length of time. When I informed him that I order from them all the time and always get delivery he asked for our address. On realising I was a regular customer he said he would send the Korma via delivery. By this time I was already on the way to the shop to show him the incomplete order, inside he was hostile and was adamant that the order was correct, yet there I was with a missing curry. Asked for my money back and he refused, to which I said I will not be coming back here again after years of ordering from them. His reply " good, I dont want people like you to come here again". He finally returned the money and I was able to leave. We will NEVER be returning to this...

Last couple of times I have ordered from here has been a nightmare...first time was told 30 minutes for pick up so ordered and then went to pick up after 35 minutes ...just to give them an extra few minutes....other half went in to pick it up and was told to sit down for a few minutes and have a drink... 5 minutes later she was told they forgot to do the order...I'm not one for waiting but she did...40 minutes later she walked out with the food...food was ok but by this time it could of been the best and I still wouldn't of enjoyed it...we thought we would give it another try tonight to see if any better...was told 30 to 45 minutes collection....went at exactly 45 minutes and same again...sit down and have a drink...25 minutes later and they bring food out as they forgot some of the order. All it was is 2 dishes 2 rice and 2 naan...wasn't even busy in there so no excuse....i rang them up and told em how I felt and that I would never go back...they pleaded for one more chance ...only live a few minutes away and when we got home the food was luke warm so no more chances... sorry but no way to treat paying customers...be more honest and people will respect that...
