Came in as a couple on a Saturday night at 1930. Based on our experience we can't recommend, and I don't think we would return. There are far better options in the local area for similar fare.
We had soft drinks, bruschetta and two pizzas.
I'll start with atmosphere - encouragingly the restaurant was full as to be expected at the weekend, we were seated near the door where most tables for two are located. This was fine but the temperature was near freezing as a constant stream of delivery drivers paraded in and out often holding the door open. We had to move tables and the staff even joked to another customer people would be cold. Often there was a scrum of 6 or more people at the door, which made it crowded and not relaxing to eat. Table was clean.
Service: It was busy, so I'm not expecting michelin star but it left alot to be desired. We weren't asked for drinks and waited nearly 15 minutes before placing an order - I asked for the appetisers to come together with the pizzas, this instruction was ignored, we didn't get any recommendations or told ehat the specials were and the staff seemed nice enough but rushed. When we got our food no one asked how it was.
Food: The drinks were nice as expected, because they're from a can but we didn't get ice in the glass or an offer of it. The bruschetta was fresh and bread was nicely charred. Pizzas however different story. We ordered one vegetariana arrabiata and the Anna sbagliata. I also ordered the stuffed Ricotta crust. Both of these were technically white pizzas. When the vegetariana arrived it could only be described as a base with half a red onion some dried olives and maybe 5 or 6 clumps of not melted cheese - I didn't actually immediately recognise it as a pizza and we thought they'd forgotten to apply sauce. We were informed its meant to be that way although the staff did offer to get us some tomato sauce. Even as a white pizza it just felt dry and didn't make sense.
The sbagliata was "ok" the cheese was once again lumpy and not melted properly, the gorgonzola was minimal and the Ricotta stuffed crust was nearly half the pizza and very bland. I could taste the truffle but ultimately it wasn't very satisfying. If you do dine here I wouldn't order the stuffed crust it sounds like a good idea but it doesn't add much.
Total cost was about 45 quid - including service charge which I considered asking to be removed.
Points for improvement:
Get the delivery drivers to wait outside, it ruins the atmosphere and gives the impression takeaways are more important than physical customers. It's a restaurant not a drive thru.
Better training for staff, or more staff at peak times. Service suffers and makes guests feel unvalued. Which is how we feel.
Have someone checking orders and implementing quality control in the kitchen - both of our pizzas were frankly just not that good and I the case of the vegetariana I would say not even really a pizza.
Based on all of this I couldn't in good faith recommend Zias to anyone. Average would have been fine but this severely underperformed - I'm also confused by the many positive reviews because there wasn't much...

I recently visited zia Lucia wandsworth with high expectations, drawn in by the hype around its quality pizzas and supposed warm atmosphere. Unfortunately, the experience left me wondering how it earned its reputation in the first place.
The Pizza: For a pizzeria that markets itself on high standards, the pizzas were shockingly underwhelming. The crust was either overcooked or, worse, soggy in the center, making it nearly impossible to enjoy. The toppings, while listed as “premium,” felt anything but. Bland flavors, uneven distribution, and a general lack of freshness did not justify the premium prices at all, and no salt at all. Atmosphere: The ambiance, often described as cozy and authentic, was sorely lacking. Instead of a warm, inviting space, we found a chaotic, noisy environment that seemed poorly managed. The lighting was too dim, and the layout seemed cramped, leaving little room to relax and enjoy the meal. It felt more like a rushed fast-food setting than an upscale pizzeria experience.
Service: To make matters worse, the service was inattentive and slow. Staff seemed more interested in chatting among themselves than attending to guests, and getting someone’s attention to order or ask questions felt like an ordeal. Even basic service protocols, like checking on the table or refilling drinks, were neglected. It was clear that either the staff lacked proper training, or customer care just wasn’t a priority here.
Overall, for a pizzeria that prides itself on high standards, Zia Lucia wandsworth fell far short. With so many better options available, I doubt I’ll be returning...
Read moreHad such a horrible experience here at the weekend that I won’t ever be going back. It’s a shame because it’s local and I’ve previously enjoyed their pizzas but the waiter was so rude to us that we had to leave. We’d gone there for a quick dinner and ordered 2 pizzas relatively soon after arriving. There were other diners but the place was far from packed. After 40mins of waiting, trying to make eye contact with the waiters, seeing other tables get served and takeaways going out we started to think our order might have been forgotten. We eventually managed to call a waiter over (as no one had ever come back to check on us). My partner said politely ‘Excuse me, we ordered 45mins ago, do you know where are pizzas are?’ The waiter (who had not been the one to take our order) gave no apology and responded in a very confrontational manner only to accuse us of lying about the time we’d been waiting. When we insisted how long we’d been there he cut us off abruptly and said do you want me to see where your food is or not? We were so shocked by his hostility. When he next came outside to serve another table (still not coming over to update us on our food) we again had to get his attention, he just walked past our table and without making eye contact said ‘they’re making it now’. That was the point at which we left. I would always make allowance for a hectic shift/bad day but couldn’t be subjected to such unnecessary rudeness and hostility. Please feel free to send me a bill for the drink I didn’t pay for but we just didn’t want to have any further unpleasant interactions and felt it best to leave as we clearly were...
