Location was pretty rubbish, a bit too far from Clapham itself, and connecting to central London via the overground is a little less convenient anyway. Not a massive amount of restaurants and shops around the hotel for evening use. It’s not in central Battersea and it’s not really quite in Clapham. The room was large that’s about as positive as it gets. The pillows weren’t particularly clean, nor were the towels. The bedding and towels stunk of baking soda or some kind of chemical. Towels were stained brown and white I’m fairly sure they were left from the last people in the room, had to ask for additional towels, which of course smelled of chemicals! Bath wasn’t very clean and the shower was completely awful and inconvenient. The bath wasn’t really wide enough to stand in to shower and the shower was such low pressure it was impossible to wash, never mind to wash hair. Either you burnt yourself to have enough water to wash, or you washed in a trickle of water. Soap and body wash falling off the wall with every press not great. Quite loud late at night around the room, like after 11pm. One of the lifts didn’t seem to work, or it had a huge delay of over a minute, felt like the Cecil hotel! Upon checking in the receptionist was rather rude took quite a while to find the name even though full name was given, and when leaving hotel later on we asked how to get back in and he stayed on his phone telling us to tap our card! Hence why we didn’t complain about the towels and bathroom, didn’t feel we’d be listened to! Second day we couldn’t get back into the room and the other receptionist was a little friendlier. Wasn’t asked if we wanted to add breakfast on checking in which is typical of a travelodge, strange. We booked literally the cheapest travelodge in central London and that’s what we got. But for £160 for two nights I’d still expect more than this. I’ve stayed in two other travelodge in the last six months and had a much better experience. Would...
Read moreHi,
I just wanted to share my experience with you guys regarding my recent stay at one of your hotels.
As you would be aware from my account that I stayed at Battersea Travelodge London on 5th of April.
I want to make you aware of how terrible our stay was. Firstly I must say the reception staff in the night shift was polite and courteous and showed us to our room. Now that's where it started spiralling downwards really fast. We had our manual room key made out in front of us with in less than 30 seconds. That was enough to give us a security scare that how easy someone could come into the room. Then as you enter the second floor there is this horrible stench of mold or some some old rusty building and makes you want to throw up. If this wasn't enough Our room had the similar smell and what we though of smoke as well. My wife in the night had the acute exaggeration of her asthma when she had been so well controlled over this spring. Coming to the bathroom it was clean but looked old dilapidated. None of us could have the courage to take a shower in there. Now the worst bit, your morning supervisor, Manuel if I spelled his name correct. On telling him that we don't think this key system is the most ideal he became very defensive and asked me in a very aggressive manner if something else was wrong. To which I told him about the stench and litter in the corridors. To my surprise he started talking in a very aggressive tone asking "what Else" like he was about to lose it on us. I have stayed at travel lodge before but never had a worse experience in my entire life. Rather I would say this was my worst hotel experience ever. In short the stay was traumatic and stressful and would have rather slept in my car rather than at your establishment. Very...

We stayed in the hotel for 1 night (only, thankfully) for a short break and some sightseeing.
Upon arrival the member of staff at reception was most unhelpful as he could not advise on the best method of transport from the hotel to Westminster and the Thames.
We checked into our room and headed straight out. On our return around 11pm we noticed the issue with the toilet door as shown in the pictures above.
The only way the door could be closed is by playing Tetris and lifting the seat to fully open and close the door. The toilet wasn't the cleanest and looked worn out. Due to the time of the day I felt it appropriate to mention this on check out.
The bed was gave the most uncomfortable sleep. And the noise from the linen delivery truck at 12 midnight did not help.
On checking out I spoke with the rude manager on reception. Who advised that the room I had was on the newer (did not look like it from the state of the toilet and carpets) side of the hotel. There issue with the toilet affects all the rooms on this side. But as the room is not on the road side it is quieter.
She felt this was justification for the toilet door issue. Surely this is something that should have been addressed during construction?
I asked if I could log a complaint about the service and was informed this was only possible by using the online chat on the Travelodge webpage. There was no telephone number she could provide and there was not even a number for her to call if she had any issues.
I will definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone. If anything I think it should be knocked down...
