We went there after doing the lights trail at Leeds Castle. We were seated very quickly after arriving even though we didn't have a booking. The service was generally good but we had to wave a few times to get our water jug replenished. The food portions were good and all the dishes were tasty. My son had the scallops as a starter. I thought they could have used a little more colour.
I wanted the seabream but unfortunately they had run out so went for the prawns instead as a main. Very tasty 😋.
My son had the fish stew main which was given the thumbs up. It was served with flat breads, which though lovely, I would personally prefer a more crusty bread.
My other half had the moussaka, which he enjoyed. He had it with the side salad.
For dessert my son tried the baklava. Too sweet for me, but a generous portion.
My one disappointment with this place is the kids menu. It has 3 items only, all meat based. It's £10 but doesn't include a drink or dessert like a lot of kids menus tend to so if your kid is vegetarian or doesn't like bolognaise or Chicken skewers then I'm not sure what your options are. My daughter had the skewers. She loved the chips but as the skewers have a lemon based marinade she wasn't so thrilled about that and didn't finish them. It wasn't a cheap evening but the food was tasty and the portions sufficient, however I would consider a venue with more to...
Read moreVisited the Yeoman for the first time for my partners work Christmas meal and I won't be visiting again. The pre order menu initially looked very appetizing with good vegetarian and vegan options however it didn't live up to expectations. The salad was meant to be a wild rice and brussel sproat salad however it was a pile of rice with a sliced brussel sproat on. No salad at all! The main was a pearl barley risotto which sounded amazing but didn't have any pearl barley in or wilted spinach as described. The dessert was meant to be a chocolate and lime pot de creme witj orange sorbet which again sounded really nice but when it came out was hardly that. It was a rock hard chocolate icing in a dish with some flavourless slush on top, some lime peel, lime zest and lime juice poured over it. It was very sickly and hard to eat due to it being so hard. The service was slow and the staff didn't seem to know what they were doing or serving. They were informed of someone being gluten free before visiting however the lady was still served normal bread and when she questioned it they offered to buy some from the shop. A little to late? We also waited an hour for the worst tasting Irish coffee ever. I wouldn't recommend eating...
Read moreI would give it 10 stars or a Michelin star if i could. The food is that good. EVERYTHING tastes amazing. We had the chicken livers, prawns and scallops to start, which were well seasoned and beautifully presented. The scallops were garnished with samphire and pistachio nuts, which was a surprisingly amazing touch and added so much flavour. The best scallops I've ever tasted. For Mains, we both enjoyed the cod...on a bed of well-seasoned mash and lobster sauce. Again, it was beautifully presented and tasted out of this world.
The service was IMPECCABLE. We had a new starter waitress, who was on her first evening, and she was so attentive and friendly. The manager is amazing too. He beams pride in his restaurant and is so friendly and welcoming. All the staff just seem to enjoy their jobs and were all just as accommodating.
This is now my absolute favourite restaurant. They're going to get sick of seeing my face, I'm going to be...
