Seems fitting that Mcdonalds workers use a gold star rating.. Just like the employers. Not over impress with the service and experience generally from The Maldon Essex branch last night.
Set the scene in you mind.. The time was around 12.35 am I have been driving back from Harlow. so diverted to Maldon for a Maccy dee Drive thru. when I arrived, the car park was full of Spotty teenagers, giving the big en. In the far corner.
I drove in the drive thru, and ordered at the free standing speaker. with a girl called Hayley.. And was told to drive around to the first window to pay. Any how drove around the corner to be confronted by 3 pubic hormone driven teenagers of the male species. That I had I seen walking across the open car park to place a order and was clearly queue jumping and ordering food. And amazing enough I thought being a drive thru you would need to be in a car!! other wise it would be called a walk thru ????
One of the Lads stated to his mate that my car was arriving to the window. to which this lad replied sod him he can wait!!!
Your staff should have refused to serve these 3 lads as I had already placed my order. I had to wait at least 10 minutes to pay for my order. While these 3 lads all took it in turn to place and pay for there order.
To add insult to injury. When I finally got to the window to pay. One of the girls from the group of teenagers walked over in front of my car. And said to the bright pink haired Mc Donald worker. Let me do this order. She took the headset and announced that she was Hayley. She was not even working for Mcdonalds at the time. She had no uniform on but was wearing her shiny black trousers. And going out cloths.. And stated to her friends sitting in the car park its ok!! I used to work here, They all know me.. This then followed with me driving to the second window to collect my food. Which I then had to wait again for the 3 teenage lads to finish prating about chatting up the girls on the counter even thou they already clearly had there food.
When they did move on. I get to the 2 window to be told I had to wait even longer in bay 1 for my food to be ready.. I had only ordered 2 cheese burgers and a BBQ wrap.. When I finally got my food. it was thrust to me by one of your workers. And no mention of sorry for your wait or the inconvenience I had to endure from this poorly handled Customer services.
I am sure that if you had a night manager that was a stronger willed person. And could handle sloppy staff and Idiotic teenagers. You would receive a better review..
Will not be going back...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe taste of the food has improved, but the coffee and hot chocolate are not very nice, I think they are burning the coffee as it so hot.
Since my last visit I can say things have improved by appox. 70% the food is now lovely most of the coffee has got better but the black coffee still needs some work done to improve it, it is still too strong they must be wasting money š° giving it away when they get that right it will be a winner š
Visited the restaurant yesterday and I can honestly say the food and coffee have Improved well done to the people who sort things out I can now give you 95%, it just leaves the staff that work at the drive through windows asked to carry out a small request and get it right and you will receive 100%.
Oh dear on the 29/04/2025 my wife and stepdaughter visited this restaurant again at lunchtime she ordered a childs chicken nugget happy meal all seemed fine until my wife went to eat her lunch the nuggets were lovely the drink which was a fresh orange was lovely but the fries were so heavily covered in salt they were inedible, now bearing in mind children really should not have salt there was enough to have killed one of them we have had this problem with McDonald's before it is down to a lack of training, Just for once it would be nice to get a reply about reviews at least myself and others would know you read them, just to add if I had been with them I would have spoken to a manager concerning this and had them changed McDonald's supply salt and pepper sashes so why not serve them without salt and customers can decide just how much or little...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEver since the refurbishment Maldon McDonald's has been an absolute nightmare. Once you've parked in tesco because there's no room in the McDonald's carpark you then walk through a haze of cigarette smoke past the ten or so uber eats drivers stood blocking the doorway to find yourself greeted by a huge queue of people complaining because they've been waiting half an hour for their food. Once you've dodged them and the broken touchscreen displays you finally make it to the till and encounter the second angry mob returning cold food. Its then your turn to order. Be very specific as they tend to train their newest staff at the busiest periods. Once you've ordered take a seat and enjoy the ambience of the other members of the public sharing a joke about the utter incompetence and slow service or just watch as the automatic door slams shut or decides not to let people in and out of the restaurant. After thirty minutes or so when you get your food, rejoin the queue to collect the remainder of your order that they forgot to put on your tray. All in all it was a great experience that brought us all together as we shared in a misery that was so intense it finally became comical. 10 out of 10, would nearly starve to...
