The initial reception from the staff felt a little cold, though we were seated promptly, which I appreciated. Our drinks were taken fairly quickly, followed shortly by our food order. I ordered two appetisers and four main courses.
While waiting, we were served bread and dips, which was a nice touch. As it was my first time dining here, I wasn’t sure how long appetisers would take to arrive — but after about 20 minutes, the mains came out, and it became clear the appetisers had been forgotten. I chose not to raise it with the staff at that point, as it felt too late to matter.
I had ordered the salmon fillet, and was surprised to receive two pieces of salmon that didn’t resemble fillet cuts. I’m not entirely sure what cut it was, but it was quite dry and lacked seasoning. The sautéed potatoes were lukewarm and also under-seasoned. The rest of the food was okay, but nothing particularly stood out.
When the bill arrived, one of the staff came to clear our table and asked my 9-year-old son for his cutlery. To save him from reaching across, I handed it to the waiter myself — who then said, “No, I want it from him.” I think it was meant to be a joke, but it came off as unnecessary and a bit unprofessional.
We paid and left feeling a little underwhelmed by the overall experience. While the restaurant’s decor does have a stylish look, I noticed the lights above were caked in dust, and the area under the floor cables looked quite neglected — which detracted from the atmosphere.
I didn’t raise any issues on the night to avoid confrontation, and this review isn’t meant to be personal. It was my first time visiting, and I’m open to giving it another try in the future — hopefully, with a better...
Read moreSorry given it. 4, but the service slipped near the end of the evening and no coffee available. Up to the end of our main courses service was excellent and attentive 5 star then vanished, didn't help that a table of fellow countrymen sat down near us, they was the centre of attention with sometimes 3 staff at the table. Food was delicious, be aware the spicy salsa that comes with the bread at the start is hot and spicy. Had the chicken livers as a starter, probably the best I have had, have had many times as Tapas in Spain. Had the swordfish, again cooked to perfection, complements to the chef's, great flavor and moist, only downside, would have liked some Mediterranean grilled vegetables with it, not a salad lover. Wife had the moussaka, good size portion and told it was lovely. Wine we had was by the glass and was superb, right temperature. Overall nice meal and will return to see if service has improved before recommending to friends. Seems the no coffee was down to having a singer and elecrics couldn't support both, need to upgrade it before future events. Happy New year to the hard...
Read moreHad a table booked on Saturday night for 10 of us at 8.30. When we arrived the table was not ready and we were asked to clear the entrance and go up to the bar. We waited 30 mins before the table was ready and then it was only set for 9 people. We couldn't get anyones attention so we had to all scrunch up. The waitor then came to take our order while still walking away and chatting to other staff and customers. When the mains arrived we had to ask for extra cutlery for the 10th person. The lamb kebab was chewy. The rest of the food was nice. We stopped a waitress to order more drinks and they never arrived so had to stop another waiter to reorder. They started clearing away the plates while one of our guests was still eating her dinner. We were not offered a dessert menu, they did however bring out a solid frozen piece of cheesecake singing happy birthday to my daughter which couldnt be eaten and then charged us £4.95 for it. I really dont understand all the great reviews unless we were just...
