Maldon Spice — Restaurant in Maldon

i can honestly say this has been the worst restaurant i’ve ever visited. first of all as soon as we arrived we sat for ages waiting for our drinks to arrive and they all came one by one, we then waited 30 minutes for a food menu to be brought over to us. our food took over an hour to come, when the waiter came over to ask how it was we politely told him we weren’t too keen on the food. we then didn’t hear anything for 15 minutes. we then got the bill, so took it over to the manager to speak to him, he was very rude and wouldn’t let us explain - we told him that we had already mentioned the food was not up to our standards and he told me that he had been in the business for 40 years and that was ‘the food he provided’, we offered to pay for the drinks but he then become very aggressive and told us to leave the restaurant and never come back safe to say we wouldn’t be returning to this restaurant...

We thought we'd try Maldon Spice for the first time as there are lots of restaurants to choose from in Maldon. We had a table booked for 7pm however when we walked into the restaurant no one acknowledged we were standing waiting for our table, given the size of the restaurant this was a tad awkward standing amoungst all the other diners. They didn't take out order for over half and hour and our food took well over an hour to arrive, by this point we were both a little frustrated (especially as my husband's chair was constantly being knocked into). When we did finish it was impossible to get the attention of anyone to get the bill and pay!

I would also like to add that the owner/manager was being extremely rude to the young girl working there, calling out demands in front of the whole restaurants and appearing to loose his 'cool' a little.

We were left very disappointed and we certainly won't...

We turned up, the previous place we booked were full and overbooked and didn't take us so we ended up last minute at Maldon Spice to our suprise!

They had 2 tables left, asked if we booked, we said we hadn't, our fault, but still found the availability and space to sit us down and serve us, took our drink orders which came out immediately, ordered food came out within the space of 5-10 minuites, was attentive throughout the whole meal but not over bearing, best Indian food I've ever had, had the Tikka Mousala and the spice was just right, nice and creamy, I ate until I was full and still had a little bit of rice and Naan left on the plate, haven't been as fed well by a restaurant in ages, quality value and quality cooking I would give them 10 stars if I could, props to...
