Very stylish, high quality bar in the Northern Quarter. Interior is very well (maybe a bit over the top) themed in the style of a Japanese street, with separated booths and a relatively large seating area with Shoji styled decoration behind it. The drinks are also very reasonable prices, with them having 2-for-1 cocktails advertised everyday up to 10pm between Sunday and Thursday and then up until 7pn on the other days (however they were still doing it until 10pm on the Friday I went). The cocktails are all amazingly done, with creative names and brilliant garnishes. The whiskey are all Japanese too and very high quality. They do have a 10% service charge on all transactions (which isn't written on the menu, or at least I didn't see it). The only slight qualm I had was that the music doesn't fit the ambiance, however, I can understand that having city pop or J-pop playing wouldn't bring in as many customers as playing more popular music. All in all, will definitely be returning.

Super vibey place and the cocktails are great! 2 of the same for £12 and the flavours are great - each comes with a little something on top, like a rubber duck, fan or an image pegged on to the side of the glass and this will correlate with the drink’s name/theme. Just a really cool place and the bartenders were friendly and served pretty quickly. Definitely quite busy though so that is something to keep in mind if you’re wanting more quiet drinks. However if you want to go somewhere with a great vibes, decor and fun drinks - this is for you

Lovely Japanese themed bar in Northern Quarter. All the cocktails are themed on different parts of japanese culture and media and many have playful and humorous garnishes. There is also a large range of Japanese whiskey ranging all the way to super premium stuff. The decor is very nice if a little over the top but it embraces the theme well. The staff were all very pleasant and the vibe of the bar was very strong. Will definitely be returning to try the rest of the cocktail menu

Arrived early, no queue, no crowd, dressed well, polite at the door… and promptly told “not tonight, mate.”

Turned up with a female friend, and shock horror, the bouncers only wanted to let her in. Apparently I was “too drunk.” Now, their expert assessment was based on a single question: “Have you had a drink tonight?” I said yes (because, I don’t know, it’s a night out?), and that was apparently grounds for exile. Truly groundbreaking door policy.

My friend asked if it was because I was “too manly” or “too gay” – and they fumbled to assure us that of course not, heavens no! Nothing like a bit of vague discrimination mixed with zero accountability.

No crowd, no chaos, no reason – just a good old-fashioned brush-off. If you’re a guy thinking of going, maybe bring a disguise… or just don’t...

This a good bar with a top selection of drinks in the Northern Quarter, Manchester. It's really quite cool looking inside and has seats that are conducive to chatting - although this is more or less impossible on Friday and Saturday nights as it's usually hammered. The toilets are as clean as can be expected for a busy bar, but really are a bit to small for the number of people in there when it at it's busiest (obviously, I can't speak for the ladies bogs, but I'm sure someone who can will share that information if they can do so)

All that said however, it really is a decent place to go for a drink after work and as a place to meet up 8f you're on for...
