Absolutely diabolical, we visited for breakfast with Santa, and it was an absolute shambles. NEVER AGAIN!!
We arrived unaware of what was for breakfast, as the poster just stated breakfast with Santa,(breakfast is a wide range of things). When we asked for a menu we were told it's a small breakfast, no other choices! No dietary requirements considered! When we asked for ingredients a list wasn't available causing our son to have an allergic reaction, as the young girl working on her own must of passed the children a breakfast whilst I was speaking to a female manager.
Kids are going to pick at foods, when they are placed Infront of them, as they are unaware of dangers of ingredients!
Yes some of the food was eaten as they are kids however the food was awful and most was left and some untouched! But still refused a refund, the children didn't even get to see Santa, as we left due to terrible customer service, unorganised event and putting my child in harm! Disgusting!
Hot drinks machine not working either yet it was a breakfast, and when someone else asked if hot drinks could be brought in as they wanted a coffee with their breakfast this was also refused.
We ended up going back, due to the allergic reaction of my son and asking to speak to someone higher than him, he became high rate, I told him he was incompetent and he ran off in the back to phone the police. Police arrived and could see our frustration, we hadn't done anything wrong just wanted to get in touch with someone else due to his error and putting my child in harm!
We was not the only one complaining, and the manger has no customer service skills at all! All he can do is make up false accusations!
The photo added of the breakfast is what was served to one of the other children (we asked for no egg) so this is what they got, other than it had toast on it which he ate with ketchup, do you blame a 5 year old for eating a slice of toast when he was starving as he was wanting his breakfast!! Yet they are it all 🙄. Really looks...
Read moreWouldn't recommend ordering food as the kitchen staff never seem to cope and ordering times are long, even when it's not busy. Lord knows what happens in that kitchen, maybe they have trained raccoons in little chef hats doing all the work, which would explain why dietary requirements get ignored frequently. After all, raccoons have no concept of lactose intolerance or celiac disease, silly creatures! So it's either raccoons or there's a huge lack of professionalism and heart going on in that kitchen which is disappointing at best. Let's find a positive for you though...
Really excellent on a hot day because you can sit outside and stare at the traffic of Sutton road / a38, if you're into that sort of thing 🤣
It is what it is, pretty good for beers on a bank holiday as everyone has apparently gone there since God was a lad. So it feels like one of those places you must visit once when you pop into Mansfield, since it's somewhere that everyone knows about. Sometimes they have a bouncy castle too. All in all, a mediocre pub but it's got some heritage weight behind it if you examine the exterior so maybe on that hot day you can stare at the lovely architecture instead of that bloody road for hours on...
Read moreSo disappointed - really wanted this place to be our local again. If it’s food you want do not come here. Long wait with no information ie ‘sorry short staffed, kitchen on fire, cook walked out’ just nothing. No cutlery /sauces brought to the table - when the meals came one was missing- she had hers after we had all finished ours - no asking if we needed sauces or anything else. The burgers were overdone - beef burgers were like cardboard and very low quality the chicken burger was as dry as a bone - also served on metal enamelled plate! Yuk. Think the barmaid was new starter - really hope she was as she has so much to learn about customer service. She did ask how everything was when eventually clearing the plates up - I asked her how she thought it went (and not sarcastically ) she knew the issues as we did politely inform of them as the evening progressed and she looked at me like I had fell off the ceiling! I am aware that pub grub is the thing that keeps them open nowadays but that food and service was very much below par, and I know times are hard etc; but we were not expecting Michelin quality, but good service and their acknowledgment would have been appreciated. - we didn’t stay...
