Jasmine House, Melton Mowbray — Restaurant in Melton

This place is a hidden gem in the endless midst of Melton fast food, cafe and charity shops. Being a Chinese restaurant where you can dine in is unique in itself but the food is what makes this the best Chinese in Melton for me. I've lived here for 10 years and without naming names been to a lot of the Chinese takeaways in the town, but this is in a league of its own. Fantastic menu and spoilt for choice, yet you can even ask the chef to customise dishes for your own preference. I had the set menu option and everything was delicious. The owners are extremely friendly and all too happy to help. Price wise very good, the local lager 'laughing buddha' 👍 a big thumbs up.

The only things I would say is that there isn't a great deal of parking available, you will need to book because there's not a lot of tables and they don't deliver their takeaways, you have to collect.

What a hidden gem. We visited it on a Sunday night and the place was packed. Endless stream of takeaways for collection signals that the food was going to be good. Starters of smoked chicken, curry vege samosas were delicious. The prawn on toast were proper.

Mid course of aromatic crispy duck comparable to best Chinese restaurants in London. Steamed sea bass, sweet sour prawns, claypot taufoo seafood were flavoursome and tasty Finished of with fritters and pancake ice-cream, grand children fav. Mei and Alex have done a great job and existed for 20 years. Congrats and your personal service made our visit memorable n will come again. We booked and ate here for a family birthday celebration and all the dishes were absolutely superb as was the service and we were all able to enjoy catching up as the atmosphere was just right with no loud music. This has been our go to place for take away during the last last two and a half years of the pandrmic and it was wonderful to return to eating in as a family here. The two sittings booking system works very well to ensure that service is efficient and personal while atmosphere is friendly and intimate.
