Upon arriving at Wokingham's SEDERO LOUNGE we found a table to seat our group of 7, but had to clear all the dirty plates onto another table which was piled high with even more dirty plates and glasses. It was incredibly hot, stuffy and humid, it was stifling, so we asked a staff member if the door could be opened a little to allow some fresh air in, but she insisted that opening the door would make her very ill (it was very mild outside at 17 degrees) After a very long wait, the food was finally served, but was of a very poor standard, the garlic bread was burnt black and over cooked, the jambalaya was barely warm, the fish finger sandwich was warm but exceedingly dry and tasteless. We were all disappointed with our meals, but we were on a time constraint by this point and as nobody had enquired/cared if our meals were ok, we simply left. This is the fourth time we have had an unacceptable experience after a year of regular custom and we will certainly not be returning. This was once our favourite place to eat, it is such a shame that standards have dropped so dramatically. The staff are verging on rude, atmosphere is poor and food disappointing. We will not be returning. Despite sending an email, I did not receive a reply until a review left on Trip advisor. Which in itself speaks volumes.
Just had a fantastic impromptu Sunday evening supper at Montero Lounge. Had allday veggie breakfast it was absolutely phenomenal. I liked the twist chef laid on my plate, adding sautéed peppers and spinach, & sweetcorn & cheese fritters. Absolutely delicious. My wife had tapas chicken wings, patatas bravas and goats cheese with flat bread and butter chicken. The pink raspberry soda's rocked. Our friends from way out of town came to visit and enjoyed the different burgers and fries (one of our friends is actually a chef that cooks meals for top world famous movie actors and musicians and she also commented on how excellent the meals we ate were while she sampled bits from all the dishes also giving her seal of approval). Excellent value for money portions, warm friendly welcoming staff and spacious relaxed atmosphere. Excellent range of meals, sweets, beverages, wines, spirits & beers. Vegans and veggies catered for. We'll definitely be back soon. It has to be an impressive 1000/1000 from all of us and what an amazing end to the weekend despite the stormy weather the whole team at Montero Lounge still turned up to make our evening special. I mean, that's dedication to your patrons right there. It's just awesome it really was, so if you're in Melton Mowbray and looking for an awesome dining experience any day or night of the week, Montero Lounge is definitely the...
Read moreA very nice bar initially, but the experience was ruined by the small portion size. My partner was torn between two dishes and ultimately chose the Korean chicken burger over the big lounge breakfast. Given the cost of the former we were expecting big things and were more than a little confused at the size of the burger and the two small goujons of chicken. I had the Sri Lanka curry which given I have an egg and dairy allergy was careful to check out. I am not vegetarian and still eat meat. So given this chose the curry which was vegan and had with chicken. My partner ordered and we waited, fast forward to a server bringing my food and saying the squash curry. Not what I ordered, then ended up having it taken back. In the meantime my partners food appeared and mine still had not returned. Instead of taking his back to the kitchen to return with mine, it was left on the table with him waiting for me. Eventually mine came out when he was half done. My food was great but the service and partners food ruined what should have been a great experience. We did complain and had the opportunity to speak to the manager, who offered us an option that was suitable for the situation. The bar itself is lovely but it does show that customer service is everything. I will say the Manager did an amazing job coming over and...
