Saracens Head — Restaurant in Metropolitan Borough of Solihull

Very bad experience. We stayed at the hotel next door, which was really nice with excellent service.

However when we when threw the adjoining doors it to the pub/restaurant are. It was a completely different story. The place felt generally unclear. Dirty plates and glasses on empty tables. The food was terrible over cooked and the presentation was Really lacking! Just thrown on the plate. The waitress was not interested in her job and really didn't want to be there. She literally plonked the plated down with out a word even though we had waited over 45 minutes to be served. My payment at the Bar, no welcome or thank you. Just had the credit card machine thrust at me!

We sat for about an hour and out table remained cluttered with our used plates.

We went outside to except and again we were confronted with tables full of glasses.

A waitress came out had a cigarette then went back in leaving empty glasses and no attempt to clear them.

Breakfast was reasonable, but it did take some time.

I have taken in to consideration that this is also a community establishment. However there really is no excuse to what we experience.

Very bad language and 3 very drunken customers who add to the already bad experience.

The following night we had a meal and drinks at the Plum of Feathers after attending my Sister in Laws funeral.

What a difference.

I don't normally complain and l know things can a do go wrong. However there was a whole cocktail of issues.

I owned 3 pubs before I retired 7 years ago two with accommodation.

For the benefit of the business and taking consideration of the many food outlets in the area.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a hidden gem called saracens, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish! This restaurant truly exceeded my expectations in every way possible.

Not impressed. I entered the pub this evening to see if it was ok to bring a minature Dashund in with us. Not everywhere is ok with dogs so I thought I'd check. I went in alone leaving my companion and the dog outside. I approached 2 bouncers who stood 5ft inside the door. I went to ask the black guy but before i could speak I was told to remove my hat I always wear a hat lately because my hairs just growing back and im getting over breast cancer. Despite feeling his request was unreasonable regardless of the circumstances I was generous enough to afford him an explanation. I anticipated an awkward apology but instead he completely ignored my explanation and just said 'in his opinion the dog was not allowed.'
