Meze Grill Turkish Restaurant — Restaurant in Mid Suffolk

We stopped in quickly yesterday evening, as we had been in the area for work. We didn’t really know the area but after reading the reviews, thought we would give this a go. It was easy to park, as they had spaces right outside.

Upon arrival, you could smell the food. It definitely worked up an appetite. The lady who served us, was friendly and everything came in a timely matter.

I had a pornstar martini & my husband had the amaretto sour. The pornstar was probably one of the best I’ve had.

We ordered a selection of starters, including the Lachaman, houmous & prawns to go alongside our Chicken shish & Adana kofte. I also ordered the Ezme salad, as I really like that.

The houmous came with a basket of freshly warm flatbread. The only downside was that the houmous is brought from outside in. After inquiring with the waitress, it would have been nice to have freshly home made houmous- but it was still tasty nevertheless.

The lachaman I’d never had before & I was pleasantly surprised how light it was. The prawns came in a sauce & this was also delicious.

The shish and Adana kebab came presented well with cous cous and rice with a nicely dressed salad & accompanying sauces. The flavours were good and it being cooked on the chargrilled really gave it a nice finish.

To end we had the Turkish rice pudding. It was a nice end, although we both felt it would have been better warm rather than cold. That’s more personal preference, than anything else.

If we lived local, it definitely would be one of the restaurants we would visit more. The atmosphere was lovely & whilst we were there a few tables celebrated their birthdays & the atmosphere they created bringing out the cake really felt fun.

An Unforgettable Dining Experience

From the moment you step inside, this restaurant’s beautiful, warm, and comfortable decor blows you away. The "wow factor" continues as you make your way to even the restrooms, which are also stunningly decorated. The food is just as impressive as the decor. We ordered with the Special Chef set meal for two, which began with a delightful appetizer of soft bread and a variety of flavorful dips. The main course was a delicious selection of tender, perfectly cooked meats served with couscous and rice. We also enjoyed a tasty, fruity bottle of Malbec red wine. To top it all off, I had the most impressive liquor coffee I’ve ever tasted—a difficult combination to perfect, but they absolutely nailed it. I have try many Turkish restaurants. In my opinion, this is the best Turkish restaurant in Norfolk. Wow what a delicious meal! Me and my friend booked to sit in the conservatory for dinner which was lovely. We had the sharing platter for 2 and it was cooked to perfection! The meat was tender and very well seasoned, the rice and bulgar wheat was lovely and tasty. All the starter dip selections were excellent and the bread was a great accompaniment for all the dips we got. The mixed platter we had was £49.95 which may seem expensive for some but I can honestly say you 100% get your moneys worth! The platter for 2 could have easily fed 4 people with the amount you got and the waiters were so lovely and offered to box up all the leftovers for us to take home without me even having to ask! The service was lovely and the restaurant had a really nice relaxed but classy vibe.

I had previously only had takeaway from them before which was also excellent but for anyone wanting an excellent dining experience in Stowmarket I couldn’t recommend the Meze Grill more for a lovely...
