Lime Tree Café — Restaurant in Mid Suffolk

On arrival, we asked if we could sit down and they said anywhere. We did. No one told us we needed to come to the till to order so we waited a while. The kitchen was filled with staff nattering. There appeared to be a large number and not really doing anything. I went up and ordered two breakfasts with brown bread, an orange juice and an apple juice. The drinks were then plonked on the table with no effort to put them in front of us or with the right person and the breakfast turned up with white bread. Meanwhile, we watched them mess up two other orders, plonking only one of two meals on one table and taking a tuna jacket potato to a lady who ordered a chilli jacket potato. I think it was a good representation of the service...

Lovely little cafe and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The cafe was very clean and the kitchen which is directly behind the counter appears to be all stainless steel. This too is spotless and nice to see as other cafés we have visited have not been up to the standards of Lime Tree Cafe. We arrived later in the afternoon, so only really wanted a drink. However, there were a choice of homemade cakes, so I had a slice of bakewell tart. But it seems the cafe still did hot dishes as people around us were being served with them and as we left about 3.30 pm people were still arriving for food. Really nice down to earth cafe and would certainly visit again, if in the area. Prices too were reasonable, not at all...

We have been here, on a couple, or more, occasions and have always been pleased with both the service and the food.

Staff are always welcoming and polite. Nothing seems to be too much trouble, as far as we have been concerned and I cannot complain about any of the food we have eaten.

I won't confirm, or comment, on disability access. I would suggest it's not that geared up for it but will stand corrected on this. I suggest the lavatory is not wheelchair friendly.

Atmosphere marked 4 stars, purely because it might not be to everyone's taste.

I would definitely recommend coming here: certainly for breakfast, or similar. Well...
