The worst Chinese in the world. The special fried rice didn't contain any Prawns. TGE sesame seed toast did not come. The kig prawns were not delivered. The dessert was not delivered and their were numerous other issues with my takeaway which cost just short of £40. I was not the only one another customer also ordered by phone and their were alleged problems with his order he ordered again and this was not delivered. Just because we were vulnerable adults at the Burgess Hill Priory we were allegedly taken advantage of due to our disabled status which is contrary to the provisions of the Equality Act at the very least. The restaurant also failed under their higher duty of care owed to us and failed to produce an itemised receipt and written on the items which was which as it was ordered by two people paying separately. Alleged breach of the Food Act too. I would recommend you never ever use this takeaway ever. I phoned to complain and the manager did not even speak English or have very basic comprehension of the language. Furthermore my friend alleges that illegal immigrants are employed there. The manager denied everything and refused to refund or reissue the correct food or offer any compensation. I paid by VISA so I will be taking this up with them. To loose their approved VISA card terminal and status! In my humble opinion avoid like the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI took my family here for a celebratory meal, the staff were very welcoming. The first drink order wasn't what we ordered, but no big deal, we got on with it.
We ordered the starters, again some items were missing and some were wrong, again we accepted, the food was fine.
After 1 hour and 45 minutes we still had not even been served the remaining started we had ordered, duck, let alone even ordered mains.
We spoke to the people on the table next to us, they had been there over two hours and still not had their main courses. I went up to ask if we could settle the bill and leave, the lady promised it would be out in 5 minutes. I made the point that we hadn't even ordered mains yet despite asking to half an hour earlier.
10 minutes later the duck came out, then the mains, again the order wasn't right. Many other people in the restaurant had the same problems and were complaining.
We were offered a free drink each but the bill came to £85 for four of us having the £14 per head buffet - the two drinks we had each were very expensive! No discount offered and service charge automatically added.
The gents toilets were out of order and the ladies a mess. Will never go back as it ruined our...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe visited Mei Xin Hins in Burgess Hill and will not be going back. We called to check prices and were advised that children were Ā£13 and adults were Ā£21.99. When we got there we were told that because our 8 year old is over 1.3 metres we had to pay for an adult. My child may be tall, but paying adult prices for an 8 year old who doesnāt eat adult portions is ridiculous. Eventually after saying we were going to leave and go somewhere else, management decided we could pay for a child.
The food was greasy (especially the spring rolls, chicken wings etc). Although it is āeat as much as you likeā you can only order from the starter menu or main menu twiceā how is that eat as much as you like. So 2 chicken satay sticks per person. If thatās all your child really enjoys they canāt have more. If you want aromatic Duck or deserts they are each an extra Ā£4.80 per person. There are other restaurants nearby which we usually go to, where aromatic duck and deserts are included and the food is better quality and a similar price (and children are not height restricted)-Unfortunately for us none of the other restaurants were open...
