The Railway — Restaurant in Mid Sussex

Words cannot describe, the Dedication and Passion the Staff at the Railway Pub. They're so welcoming and work so hard to make the pub run smoothly. The Staff are the best part and I'm very pleased to know most of the team.

I have tried a plate of Food for the first time in a long time and I have to say it was one of the best dishes I've ever had. I had a Cheeseburger and I have to give the Kitchen Staff 10/10 it was really delicious and the presentation on the plate was very impressive.

The Service when asking for a drink is quick, it takes around two minutes to get the drink which is outstanding.

The Atmosphere of the pub is great and no surprise, it is usually packed with customers. Always having a very friendly environment, the setting of the Venue is very true to the Name, it's a lovely place for train lovers to have a drink with their friends as well as everyone who comes to visit.

Overall, I have to put the Railway is in the list of my top 5 favourite pubs to visit.

I first visited the railway in October after a last minute invite. Since then, it’s been my weekly go-to pub.

Having met many of the staff now, they are always incredibly friendly and accommodating. James in particular never fails to provide brilliant service with a smile.

I pre-booked food over the Christmas break and met Beks who runs the kitchen. The food was absolutely delicious, and no detail was missed with equally as impressive presentation. After meeting Beks it’s no surprise the food is impeccable. She was kind, accommodating, and multitasked better than inspector gadget.

The pub itself beautiful, and the Christmas decorations were flawless. The manager, I think his name is Steve, is always exceptionally and consistently helpful. He seems to know exactly what’s going on and where, and has a handle on absolutely everything.

First time visiting the pub tonight it was very cold, staff were not very welcoming, seemed to busy talking to each other than serving customers. After looking through the menu we ordered our food to be told no we dont have that. This was the response for around 6 different dishes we tried to order. In the end we ordered lamb shank meal and hunters chicken. When the food came out, the lamb was very hard, Yorkshire pudding was like rubber and veg very hard you could tell it had been just put in microwave even so the lamb was still not cooked it was still raw. The chicken was very chewy and bacon was hard and couldn't be cut. After talking to the manager and also advising her the two cokes were like fizzy Water she refused to make a full refund and only refunded the cost of the raw lamb. We Will never eat or go in there again. Wouldnt recommend anyone eating there unless you want...
