Worst Birthday meal and take away I've ever had!!

Two weeks ago my wife and I had birthdays and decided to have a special take away meal, my wife ordered a Vegetable Burrito and I ordered a La Famosa Chimichanga, with side orders of chips and spicy onion rings.

Vegetable Burrito; was really greasy and the contents were made up from seems like a pack of cubed frozen veg (beans, carrots & potato), none of it was fresh.

La Famosa Chimichanga which I requested to be fairly spicy; I didn't get this at all, I got mince in a wrap (I presume it was meant to be a burrito), it had no hot spice in it at all.

Chips; cold

Onion rings; tasted nice, but no spice at all to warrant calling them spicy.

Did I mention the re-fried beans; slop is the only work that can describe it!

Disappointed not to have a Chimichanga I called the restaurant, I was put through to the manager who was very apologetic and offered to re-do the order. I said no as we were the other side of town, so he offered me a re-fund initially and then said he would give me a £20 voucher and said he would contact me the following week to arrange it, I thought this was reasonable.

Over a week has passed and I've had no contact, this is so disappointing and not what I'd expect from a restaurant that I presume wants to up hold a good reputation.

Our birthday celebration was completely ruined and I can't see we'll ever go back to Spiral, the prices are expensive, for a take away you are paying restaurant prices.

I used to work in a Mexican themed restaurant and in no way would I say Spiral's food is anyway authentic.

Management if you want to try a good burrito visit El Mexico at the Cobham Services on the M25, less than half the price and 100%...

We went to Spiral for Valentines Day because we had been a good few times before and had always received a warm welcome and exceptionally good food.This time was no different, but they had gone the extra mile and made the evening extra special by presenting us with gift bags for the occasion. This included a personalised mug with our initials on, some delicious biscuits, a pen and a personalised game with fun questions about our partners.A bit like Mr and Mrs for those of us that are in our fifties and remember such programs as these. They cook the best steak I has ever tasted , and my wife has dietary requirements which they bend over backwards to accommodate. I promise you, this restaurant is well worth a visit, and I would just like to thank all the Spiral staff for making Valentines such a special night . My wife and I visited Spiral on Friday 6th January for my birthday. I ordered chicken wings as a starter and the pulled pork burrito as mains. My wife had jalapeños as a starter and a vege fiorentina main. The food was amazing as always. Being a Friday, it was busy as would be expected, but the food came out in good time. The atmosphere was great. There was nothing negative to say about our experience. I would add that if you're like me and you're not a fan of hot food, stick with mild, not medium. I had a medium hot burrito and it was a bit too hot for my liking, although I persevered and ate everything. This didn't detract from the deliciousness of the food. 5 star...
