The Real Pizza Company East Grinstead — Restaurant in Mid Sussex

In all of my reviews I always make sure to mention that I am NO pizza expert. It is however, possibly my favourite food, definitely in my top #3. Up there with chocolate and Chinese takeaway food. Anyhow, I love the real pizza company, so does my parents. It's convenient for us because it's a short walk away from my house! 0.3 of a mile away to be precise. I find their pizzas very tasty! I suppose it's not my ABSOLUTE favourite pizza chain of all time. As I always mention, that spot goes to pizza express. 👌👌👌. So, apart from the taste, and the easy walking distance, what else do I like about these pizzas? Well, I know I probably sound like a boring old man when I say this, but I find it quite entertaining watching them make it. You can see it being cooked, and it being made, but you can also just sit outside and enjoy the view of, well, houses, I won't lie. However, I do have 1 or 2 problems that stops me from giving it 5/5 stars, like pizza express. So, what are they???

Well, the first one is that this restaurant does have a low number of seats, in case you want to eat in. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather a few than none and it could work for a lad wanting to have a meal with a few mates, but they could use a few more seats maybe. Also, seating is very important. What if you lived a few miles away? The stupid thing would be cold by the time you thought it home! Delivery time - excellent. Please have an option on your app to pay a tip .Not many people have cash anymore.

Chicken wings - great, generous portion

Pizza - dough is great. Toppings not so. There was virtually no tomato sauce base … even re-checked my order in case I selected a change to base option in error. Not so. Beef was very sparse. 2 slices (of a large pizza) had no beef at all. Other toppings… not sure if there were spring onions and I could have counted the sesame seeds there were so few.

Was it just a bad day? I know other reviews have been 4-5* which is why I decided to try The Real Pizza Co. I don’t think I’ll order again, prices are on par if not slightly more expensive than other local Pizza Cos. and my order simply wasn’t...

UPDATE - subsequently had pizza delivered by these guys and it was delicious. Delivery was prompt, and pricing is really keen too. I think best to chalk up dodgy delivery to an unfortunate conflation of events out of their control. Will definitely order from them again.

I originally had a dodgy delivery experience with these guys but, and absolutely to their credit, they were very keen to look into it and try to put it right where they could.

I think the desire to try and put things right where there’s been a mistake (rather than just shrug off a lost customer) speaks to their customer service.
