Eagles Jerk & Grill — Restaurant in Milton Keynes

I’m absolutely shocked at the customer service I’ve just received and how rudely I was just spoken to on the phone by Eagles Jerk & Grill in Milton Keynes. I have honestly never been spoken to by a business so badly in my life!

We ordered food at 7:20pm via their app, (we are regular customers and have order many many times before) so we are not new customers.

Our food was due to be delivered to us at 8:25pm so at 8:36pm when the food hadn’t arrived I called (we call most weeks to chase as it’s always late 9 times out of 10 but understand this happens especially at weekends when it’s busier, we also have items missing quiet a bit - but again it really doesn't upset us as we understand these things can happen as the food is great!) but when is comes to how you speak to a long standing customer I am totally appalled and would never purchase from people who are so blatantly rude! so when I called I was then told the driver had left and it would be with us shortly.

9:15pm still no food arrived so we have ordered nearly 2 hour ago now, so I called again, I wasn’t annoyed I simply just wanted to know where our food was like any customer would if it was 1 hour later than the expected time. At this point the guy put me on hold and called the driver and said he would be with us in Approx. 8 mins.

All I said was "ok no problem, but that’s been 2 hours today it’s not really ideal...." (expecting an apology and kinder words than what I received)

He then replied "ok thank you" bye type thing....I was thinking in my head not even a sorry just a sarcastic “ok thank you” he then said after a big pause as I was so shocked by his response “what is is you want me to do about it” in such a tone.

My partner herd him on speaker phone and said that’s terrible and so rude he didn’t want the food from them.

I said please can you cancel the order and refund me, as we’re very upset with how rudely he’d spoken to us, he replied “you asked me a question and I'm answering you” again continuing to be rude and disrespectful. the conversation didn't stop there and he continued to speak so poorly to us! He ended up hanging up on me. I’m still so shocked how a business can speak to customers this way?

The guy also said he would refund me later "at the end if the day" baring in mind it was 9:15pm - refund still yet to be received and if not received id be taking this further.

Saddest thing is I didn’t want a refund I wanted our food! - I just will not buy from people who have no respect or regards for others

We would purchase from this place very often at least 1-2 times a month and have done for many years as the food is great however service is absolutely appalling, no food is worth being abused like this down...

My partner and I are new to the Milton Keynes area and eager to find a Caribbean food spot that tastes authentic and flavoursome. Unfortunately we were disappointed with our order from here. The coleslaw was okay as was the macaroni cheese and the yellow spicy rice.

The service was okay the wait wasn't too long. We found it strange having to download and order via an app once waiting in the store. The portion sizes were okay too.

The curry goat did not taste like curry or even goat. It unfortunately had a strange flavour that I am not used to. It was also strange to us to have the option of adding a sauce to accompany the curry goat. We opted for chilli which was a red sauce placed on top of the goat meat. This is a new way of serving a Carribbean dish that we found unusual and not very nice or necessary.

The rice and peas lacked flavour and was bland in my opinion. The jerk chicken wings seemed to be oven baked wings that were topped off with a thick jerk marinade when served. The jerk marinade was sat on top of the wings and quite lumpy and off putting. I chose to use a kitchen towel to remove some of the excess before eating. It would have been nice for this to have been baked with the wings. The wings flavour was okay but a little undercooked as each one that was eaten had a slight redness in the middle close...
