Google you really need to have an option for minus 5 star!! I'm not one to leave reviews but it was that bad I had no option. I'm not a fussy eater either but how can they get a chicken burger and chips so wrong, stale bun topped with dog hairs and some sort of chicken thing slapped inside, it was totally inedible!!! Staff were a joke, I believe they were the owners aswell, so busy looking at their mobile phones they had no time for customers. I didnt even bother showing them all the dog hair on my dinner, I couldn't get there attention. The pint of guiness was OK. My wife's dinner also had dog hairs on. We visited the rose and Crown after the circus in Newport pagnel, and as soon as we walked in we was greeted with a smile from the lovely young girl behind the bar. As we sat down we was offered drinks and given some menus. When we ordered we was told it would take about 10 to 15 minutes witch was great, although it wasn't even 10 minutes. When the food arrived, it was amazingly presented and brought out to us by the landlord and landlady who couldn't have been more happy to deliver the food to our tables. For the 4 of us it didn't cost us much at all, and the landlord was great with my son, and even gave him a free fruit shoot. Nice pub with friendly owners. Clean and well-decorated inside with great photos of local history. We had a quarter pounder burger and a veggie burger, a pint of Eagle IPA and a large glass of Melbec. The wine was really nice and the beer was spot on.
