Just moved to newport right next to the dove. Staff are very friendly but with the amount this pub likely makes it could have done with at least one more member behind the bar both times I've been in. Atmosphere could do with a little work but like I said I've only just moved here so it maybe different on another visit. I'm glad its a family friendly place to the degree a pub can be really. It's a little dark on the inside could do with some work on that aspect but seeing a pub look like a proper pub in every other way is great as you don't tend to get many like it anymore. As we walked past the bar, the woman behind it said, “How can I help? It’d be nice if you asked to use the toilets.” For the record, none of us even used the toilets ,we were there to use the machines. But even if we had, there’s really no need to speak to people like that. It’s a pub, not a private facility, and some basic manners wouldn’t go amiss.
