Location easy to get to the venue seems nice. Good selection of menu items, service was friendly. The food tasty . But.. However. Parking is an issue especially if you are disabled, the car park very small and when you get the big SUV etc hogging space and a half, with no disabled parking, or none seen that is an issue. So trying to open a door wide enough to squeeze out was a painful experience. I had to get my son to squeeze in to move the car. If I had not been meeting them to ask to move it I would not have parked there but move on. The wait was not an issue took a reasonable time. However bringing out food that was not hot.. then waiting for cutlery and items not good, waiting for half the meals not ideal.. note the plate was barely warm when handed to me despite the server holding it in a towel. Seems the spice from spicy burger was missing, the spicy chicken wings was not spicy but personally I found perfect and tasty. The ribs was tasty but I have had better certainly did not fall off the bone. The prices were comparable slightly up on other places however the food portions was smaller than other places. The food was tasty though even if not hot. You are hungry, definitely will be eating it. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the puddings because they decided to close the kitchen early.. very very early. Pity because they looked interesting and I would have assumed been nice, though I'm guessing portions probably small. The place seems nice, nice atmosphere, staff certainly seemed friendly who I spoke to. There was 7 of us so maybe they struggle to cater for a party of that size. Fish and chips on one portion, nice looking told tasted nice, not many chips and what would say is classed as smaller than a mini fish other places. The veggie option looked good, spicy burger I'm told they forgot the spice. Though tasted ok. Overall smaller portions, not hot, tastes good, not all plates brought out at once, and cutlery was brought after some plates brought out. Two stars because food taste was ok. Personally doubtful I would want to return.

Really bad food. We ordered 3 starters (that came out with the mains) and 2 burgers and every dish had something wrong. We would have sent it all back but we had already waited 45 minutes so was starving! One of the burgers was completely the wrong burger (ordered vegan Bombay Burger and got the vegan gourmet burger instead), the Desperado burger had no spring onion or cheese sauce, standard chips instead of paprika chips, no onion, iceberg lettuce not baby gem lettuce, no mayo with the mushroom starter, no bbq sauce with the mac n cheese bites, and our ‘shicken tikka pieces’ looked like the attached picture!! What about a piece of iceburg lettuce, a tomato and some mayo is ‘Asian slaw’?!?! To top it off, it was all cold. We had to ask for cutlery and got 2 forks, 3 knives and no napkins. Ketchup had a squirt left in it, so had to find the sauce station and replace it myself (and grabbed some napkins!). No one came up to us in the meal to ask how it was going, otherwise we would have complained. Would never go back and would never recommend. AVOID and save your money.

So, here's great customer service for you! Went to the Galleon Inn yesterday we celebrated my Dads 78th birthday. Booked the Galleon for 1pm. Lauren the manager calls to say 9 of the 10 strong staff have called in sick with the bug, and they can't serve food today. I say it's Dad's birthday, I had delivered a cake there this morning, Dads just arriving from London and Pen and Zac from Nuneaton. Is there not anything they can do? She says she'll call me back. Next thing is she calls to say the cleaner Caz will cover the bar, while she puts her chefs hat on for us and only stays open to serve our table! And they both did a wonderful job..and lush food. Hats off to them both!! You gotta get yourself a visit. The food was great, and the customer service was second to none. Well impressed.

Avoid if you're a canal boater and/or want food. We went for a quick quiet evening meal after mooring up nearby and had a miserable time.

They didn't have either my first or second choice on food available. 35 minutes after ordering we had to ask several times what the status of our food was, getting different answers. They didn't know which table numbers were which and somehow delivered half of our order to our table, and lost the second half of it to a different table. The condiments selection brought out included a ketchup bottle with about a teaspoon of ketchup in it, and a pair of pepper shakers but no salt. The steak I ordered was lackluster, peas were practically incinerated, and the chips were dry and overcooked.

The place was full of flies bothering us continually. They also had a karaoke night on, with very little interest from punters - which I wouldn't really mind - but for some reason the music needed to be on excessively loud when people weren't singing. Bit obnoxious.

Beer choice was uninspiring. Usual lagers and a couple of inoffensive bitters.

The place looks newly refurbished, so it makes me wonder whether this used to be a nice canal-side pub, but was bought out and turned into a bit of a lads' boozer....

After reading the good reviews my experience at the galleon was not good at all. Me and my friend turned up to be greeted by a very rude lady behind the bar. Having asked for a menu for two people we were given 1. When ordering drinks and asking to order food once we had reviewed the menu the lady laughed and said ‘ well I am not going to let you sit down without paying for your drinks’ when we had no intention of not paying we simply said we would review the menu before ordering. We were then asked if we would like to pay together or separate for me to confirm separately. The lady behind the bar, said ‘ well paying separately may be convenient for you but not for me’ I mean not really sure why she asked when it was such an inconvenience... After sitting down at 1:45pm to order we were told by a member of stuff we better order quick as the kitchen closes at 2pm. If we had known that we would have not bothered ordering a drink. On exit we did see this was noted on the wall, but would be helpful if we were told when ordering.

Such a shame. The front of house lets the...
