Handley's Cafe — Restaurant in Mole Valley

This establishment is well branded and presents a comfortable place to stop off. Sadly, the customer service was quite poor when I visited.

Firstly, I think the staff could do with some more training on how to address customers properly. This, alone, wouldnt have bothered me but it did add to irritation that my breakfast took longer than 20 minutes to arrive after ordering which was surprising, given they weren't busy.

I then popped to the toilet and when I had returned they had removed my plate. I did tell the young man that he had removed my food and he just said "Sorry" and carried on doing other things ignoring my request to pay him as I needed to leave as my parking ticket had expired and so I was forced to leave too much money on the counter because my parking ticket was...

This review is purely based on the private hire during an evening event, not the cafe during the day.

Firstly I will say it's a cute and intimate venue and can be decorated very nicely, which in this case it was. The staff were accommodating and very helpful.

However. The spirits were watered down. We did not challenge this as we didn't want to spoil the evening. It was blatantly obvious when ordering a double spirit with coke in a small glass that it was definitely not a double or possibly even actually what it should be. The JD was weak as was the disorano and gin.

Frightfully disappointing. The friendly staff and consistently good breakfasts have secured mine and my husband’s patronage for over a year now. Today however, was a completely different experience. Perhaps there is a new chef in the kitchen or new supplier.
