Rialto Social — Restaurant in Mole Valley

Giving this 1 star is too generous but I had no choice but to, as I couldn’t add review without making a star rating. booked in Nov 2017 (for Jan 2018), agreed that I could book my NCT group in soft play area. We would have area to ourselves. we did not have the area to ourselves, I complained to the manager. Who said basically, you didn’t pay £200 to book exclusively so anyone can come into the area. He didn’t even apologise. Man waiter (who I have had encountered before) who cannot speak English well (which is fine) was rude, arrogant and obnoxious. If you ask him to bring say even a napkin he seems put out and visibly p@@sed off. All of the waiters and waitresses are not trained in customer service and how to deal with people. When our food arrived the waitresses were too “shy” to ask whose food belonged to who and Just left the food on the table. at the end of our meal, I went to pay for my part of the bill. The waitress (this particular one is also not fluent in english (which is fine) put my card through then looked flustered. Ask the rude waiter to help her, he then told me payment had not been made and I had to pay again. I told them I did not get a void receipt so that wasn’t right! He then printed the receipt and passed it to me without an apology! yes this place has a soft play area, where by you can eat and watch your kids play. BUT the staff are soo rude! Made a reservation for two people for valentines meal two weeks ago, was called two days ago and asked to make a £40 deposit?? I said no I wouldn’t as this was not stated when I made the reservation, the waitress was happy to except us even though the reservation was 2 weeks old… Anyway £35 each set menu was given to us, when asked the waitress if I could choose from the normal menu as nothing I really fancied eating. I was told only set menu tonight after excepting this and being a bit disappointed, I saw one person with a pizza which wasn’t on the set menu and another eating a burger. Now the food for £35!!! Prawns which smelt old and were so over cooked they had turned to mush and were slimy all over not a very nice experience. I asked for a beer and twice it came from the tap flat no life in it and was told that it’s impossible as pipes had been clean, my answer to that was try it if it wasn’t flat I would drink it, anyway that was the same for two beers then just gave up and ordered a coke. The main came and it was the most boring and bland chicken and potato’s I’ve ever had. To be honest we left went to Waitrose and got more food as left hungry angry and very very disappointed. Not impressed Rialto used to be good now it’s just a joke...

I think this was one of the best Italian restaurants ive been to, from the look of the outside on that street its on it doesn't look much but...

...inside looks really nice and the girls there where very nice, greeted with a smile and served promptly.

Minestrone soup there was delicious, we also had some very fresh olives which i hadnt had like that since i was in Cyprus last year.

Main coarse again outstanding, I had the slow cooked lamb which was very succulent and the vegetables still had there crunch, full of flavour.

I couldn't manage any dessert I was absolutely stuffed, which was a shame cos there desserts looked well nice.
