We visited this place and unfortunately had a very negative experience. The scones we were served were undercooked, and when we politely pointed it out, the staff responded rudely, insisting they knew how to make them rather than offering to replace or fix the issue right away. After a lengthy back-and-forth, they finally provided a new one.
What was even more upsetting was the behavior of the owner's daughter, who made loud, disrespectful comments within earshot, including “you wouldn’t want to sit next to them” and “we have rude customers,” clearly directed at us. This level of unprofessionalism was shocking.
As paying customers, we expected basic courtesy, especially when raising a valid concern. If you have dietary restrictions or allergies like celiac disease, I would not recommend this place, respect and care seem to disappear when...
Read moreWent inside this small cafeteria as they had nice looking scones on the window, so we had quiche, slightly uncooked the pastry but didn’t say anything because the flavour was ok and was edible. We also had baked potatoes (only thing for a celiac), french stick roll and cheese slice with drinks.
The scone was uncooked inside, doughy so we told the owner who served us and they replaced it with another. Unfortunately it was also uncooked and on informing the owner she became cold, defensive but offered to give us the money back. Yet, the aftermath was horrid as the young girl serving, daughter of the owner, kept telling the people that came in thereafter: “ don’t sit next to THEM” “those RUDE customers over there… These comments were unpleasant and not needed, the whole experience horrible! Will not come...

I went for the cheese and marmite straw - it came to the table slapped on the plate, would have been nice to have been served warm (wasn’t given the option) and maybe just a little garnish to finish the plate off - the pastry slightly underdone but edible. The staff, polite but didn’t enjoy the smirking to one another! Watching the team, touching food after dealing with cash or the putting of icing onto Bakewell tarts then cherries then putting hair behind ears touching face then doing something else all without washing hands. Cracked crockery that should be thrown away. Don’t get me wrong this is a little gem but not sure we will be back after this experience...
