Disappointing evening at The Salmon Leap. The wings we ordered were out of stock so they offered chicken breast instead. The chicken breast came out unseasoned and EXTREMELY dry! However, the major disappointment was the ribs. They were lathered with untrimmed fat - as shown in the picture below. We made the mistake of eating some of the ribs which gave my friend and I a bad stomach ache. The steak sauce was also another disaster with uncrushed pepper corns. Was our first time here and we certainly won’t be coming back.

The Salmon Leap is a great place set back in a residential area as opposed to Totton High Street, great food, and sensible pricing and an extensive menu, good beers on tap, well worth a visit, the staff are really welcoming.

Ate there last night, food was really good quality (kids meals and adults), service was also great. Nice setting too. If staying longer in area would go again without hesitation.

When we arrived we were wandering aimlessly through the pub and it took a while to be greeted. When sat down we were given menus and they were quite clean however, slightly overpriced food. Service was quite quick however after ordering, we waited 50 minutes to get our food even though the pub was pretty quiet and the people in there were just drinking.

When we received our lunch we were shocked. My partner had ordered the egg ham and chips and the ham was like it came from the sandwich meats section of Tesco. I had a fish finger sandwhich was quite nice however it was accompanied by some vegetable crisps not listed on the menu.

The condiments were strange tasting, especially the black pepper.

Overall was not a pleasurable experience and wouldn’t go back. However the staff were lovely and...

My wife and I went to the Salmon Leap last year in the fall with my mother for Sunday lunch, 3 times. We were visiting from Canada and ate there with friends and family several times, eating of the menu. The Sunday lunch and the meals of the menu were really tasty and good value, the staff was efficient and friendly. We returned again this fall with COVID in full force. Again we visited the Salmon leap for Sunday lunch and in the week several times to eat of the menu or just for drinks. Not only were we once again impressed with the food and service, but the steps the owners and staff went to protect their patrons. I strongly recommend The Salmon Leap if you want a good meal with friendly staff in a safe...

We came for a family lunch, having different taste we found the menue very accommodating for us and reasonably priced. They also offer gluten free options and made sure any allergies we had were noted. The restaurant area is very clean, bright and well laid out and would be ideal for a function venue as it can be separated off. The service was great, nothing too much trouble for them and special thanks goes to Heather and Sarah Jane who were very friendly and helpful. The food arrived quickly and together, no long waiting and was delicious (especially the chips). So thanks to the chef. This is the 2nd time we have been and most certainly not the last. Special thanks from us all....
