The Brimar Guest House — Hotel in New Forest

Just completed a 12 month contract in Hampshire and spent all this period staying at the Brimar. The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout my stay and were very helpful. The guest house caters for a good mix of holidaymakers using it as a base for the New Forest etc & contractors. The rooms are clean and tidy and quiet spacious, some have en-suite facilites, there are a number of shower rooms in the building so there is no wait and facilities are always clean.Breakfast, there is a good choice but the cooked breakfasts are great but had to stop these as the waist started to expand! Brimar is handy for the main shops in Tooton and not far from the New Forest and the main roads for further afield. Sorry the contract came to an end but would use the Brimar again if working locally or down...

Room adequate and very good value for money, especially on the south coast. Clean and tidy. Staff are polite and approachable. Some confusion over breakfast times as 'last orders' do not match either the times in the guest information booklets in the rooms or that which I was told on arrival. Large carpark, although gravel may deter motorcyclists and I had to use a sidestand foot. Quite noisy, can hear traffic on the high street, the bypass and the railway. Selection of restaurants in walking distance appears to be only Chinese and Indian cuisine, but prices are reasonable. New forest gastropubs are accessible and abundant if you are prepared to...

Four of us stayed one night here. We were initially surprised when we were asked for payment in advance. The rooms were spacious and comfortable although one of them had a rather strange odour. During the night there was a loud knocking at the front door and from then on there was continuous noise and shouting for about 2 hours, mainly from someone who sounded very drunk. The breakfasts were good except that 3 of us asked for tomatoes and didn't get them.
