I've been a sporadic customer of Cherizena for years now. Not sure why I've never reviewed it before as I've always been a fan. But thought I'd drop a little review today as this was my first visit since they relocated.
Their new shop is a cute, welcoming homely store situated in a beautiful little village. They have free parking and it's easy enough to find as it's directly off the A50
The owner was so welcoming and friendly. The service at the old location was always top notch but today felt especially welcoming. They have so much choice of coffee and tea that it's actually impossible to choose just one. A coffee (or tea) drinkers dream. Luckily though this store offers samples of coffee and tea for just £2.50 which is redeemable off your bill if your go ahead a buy a bag. I loved browsing the products. I always buy an every day coffee along side a fun adventurous flavoured one each time I go. Since the relocation they have introduced a loyalty scheme whereby you earn free gifts after each 5th purchase. That was welcomed by me as I'll undoubtedly hit 5 purchases going forward as I fully intend to return with or without the loyalty card.
This store feels like a luxury product but without the luxury price tag as its only costs around the same price as any quality fair-trade coffee. Except this store has so much more choice on offer than your standard supermarket.
I think mostly what's prompted me to write this review today is because of the exceptional customer experience I experienced. I wanted to show my support as they set up shop in a new location. A great shop, quality coffee/tea and authentic...
Read moreI first encountered Cherizena Coffee roughly 20 years ago on Northampton Market – the amazing aroma of coffee would pervade the morning air and I was hooked from that first taste! I discovered them anew at The Engine Yard – and what wonderful surprise that was! The store has that wonderful, earthy, freshly ground coffee aroma that I remembered from all those years ago. It is a real pleasure to open the jars of coffee and breath it in – taking time over the decision of which ones to buy. Tanith is lovely and very knowledgeable.
All the coffees are good – definitely try the Fuel Tank blend – but I absolutely love the flavoured coffees. At first, I bought it as a special treat for myself, then realised it wasn’t a treat I wanted to live without so I buy it all the time!! I buy online these days so I always have it in. I’ve set up a coffee bar at home and have a selection of flavoured coffees so I can pick one to suit my mood. I try to buy my favourite, amaretto, and a couple of new flavours each time I buy. Working from home has never been so luxurious!
This summer we’ve enjoyed our coffee over ice with a touch of brown sugar and frothy cold milk – the chocolate and coconut flavour works especially...
Read moreThe coffee is nice, but unfortunately Cherizena's customer service is sadly lacking. An order for coffee beans was placed for delivery by a special date, the delivery took 11 days and missed the special date by 2 days. But that’s by the by – the order was missing one 500g bag of coffee beans, the delivery slip was annotated ‘to be sent’ and eight weeks later the order remains outstanding. No explanation has been forthcoming, no apology offered and the company has been unresponsive to both email and telephone contact. This kind of customer service is simply unacceptable not to mention poor form and though the coffee beans are nice, I can find no reason whatsoever to recommend why anyone should purchase coffee online through this company, given the plethora of alternative good and reliable options elsewhere online. Customers be warned, the risk is yours to take, I for one will never deal with...
