Paddyfields — Restaurant in Newark and Sherwood

Avoid at all costs!!! We were here for over 2 1/2 hours and still didn’t even make it to get most of our main course. Noodles arrived to the table 15 mins before any other main courses and arrived burnt, they were then cold by the time the tiny main course portions arrived and at that not everything arrived. We didn’t ever get the rice we ordered. Tried to order more food but gave up waiting As our children needed to be in bed and were tired. Tried to resolve the situation with the owners son, who should have started work early but only showed up at 8pm and then was extremely sexist towards me. Laughing at me then looking to my Dad and Fiancé, not wanting to engage in calm and factual conversation with me. I tried to explain that their poor service prevented us from being able to fully enjoy the meal and with us having 2 young children with us by 8.30pm after sitting down at 6pm it had gone well past an acceptable amount of time to enable us to complete our meal. He kept laughing and being extremely rude and patronising, talking over me. We offered to pay towards the bill but though due to us not being able to complete our meal it was unfair to ask us to pay full price. The owners son was extremely rude and clearly thought it was funny, slow timing us trying to resolve the issue, answering the phone, greeting people behind us etc. The poor lady waitress had being doing all she could to run round and serve everyone but on her own she was doing all she could and was very apologetic (she was very helpful and lovely). The owner lady was clearly very busy and disappeared into the kitchen once her son had arrived. There was another table in at the same time as us and they had the exact same problem. I completely understand some places can be busy resulting in a wait but the table was booked in advance and it appeared as if take aways were being prioritised. The food was inedible in some instances or fundamentals just completely missing e.g. rice. This was my birthday meal completely ruined. The owners son should be absolutely ashamed by the way he treated us, his mother’s business is clearly some sort of joke to him. Please please please do not waste your hard earned money on this place. I’ve never felt so disappointed and had such a rude, sexist experience in all my days. A birthday meal well and...

Have been here on a few occasions and never had a problem, however this evening was probably the worst experience I've ever had anywhere. A group of 10 of us we're here for over 3 hours, waiting for food, wrong orders, a waiter that was as much use as the chopsticks, 1 of the group left half way through the ordeal, food was brought out whenever they felt like it and none of us had mains together and the accompanying extras such as rice and noodles consisted of an ashtray sized dish to serve all ten of us, the manager was screaming like a banshee when trying to extract money from us, some paid in full, some half and personally I paid nothing, be very wary of going in groups of more than 4 as they clearly cannot cope. Ordered a takeaway as I was celebrating my birthday with friends at home. That took 10mins as I was dealing with a trainee. Food arrived 50mins later. I paid and tipped the driver. Then discovered a meal was missing. Rang the restaurant and they said they would deliver it and knock if off the bill. Put everything into the oven until we had all the meals. 30mins later the driver came with the missing meal but no cash. He was told that we could have the meal or our money back, not both as was promised. Eventually got to eat our meal at 8.45 having put the order in ay 6.45.
