McDonald's — Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

I have reviewed other branches of McDonalds elsewhere. I generally have the same complaint which is that my fries are normally barely lukewarm.

I had a very interesting experience here some time ago. Because of my work schedule, I ended up going each Wednesday for a few months (no other choice available to me). Without fail, the fries would be barely lukewarm.

I began to see why, which was because there was clearly a policy of having loads of fries prepared and ready to go, in their cardboard holders, under the warmer.

One day, I paid particular attention. As I walked up to the main door, there were no (as in zero) cars in the drive-thru. Although there were some customers at tables eating, there were no customers being served. That is, and pay attention here, there were no other customers to be served, none in front of me, none behind, and none in the drive thru.

While the member of staff was preparing my order I decided to count the number of prepared fries in their cardboard holders under the warmer. This is the truth and I am not embellishing in any way. There were 27, yes you read correctly, twenty seven prepared fries, in holders, under the warmer.

When mine arrived on the tray, I tasted one and, of course, it was barely warm, slightly above room temperature. I asked for fresh fries and I am sure the staff thought I was an idiot and, perhaps I was.

Call me fussy but I like my fries above arctic temperatures.

Disgusting service. Went through drive through at 10.40am for 3 breakfast meals. Got the drinks and was asked to park up and wait for food. There was no where to park as by the looks of it everyone was being told to park up! Eventually found a space. Waited until 11.20am and still no food. By now the coffees were cold. I went in to store where there was a lot of unhappy customers . Asked to speak to someone to complain. A lady that had followed me in asked what the problem was. Think she may have been an area manager or something and she said she would get someone. A manager came out. Explained I had been waiting 40 minutes and still no food and coffees were cold. She asked what my order was and said she would get it and would replace the coffees. A young girl came out about 10 mins later with my order in a crumpled up bag that looked used! I asked if everything was in and she said think so! The hash browns and the McMuffins were squashed, which to be honest, should not have been a surprise by the state of the bag they were in. Will never use this McDonald’s again. They are so slow and haven’t got a clue! I will travel 5 mins up the motorway to the Gosforth store as the service and food is so...

Poor service. Waited over 25mins from going through the drive through. Ended up going in to chase up order. The young staff member was running around like mad. (Only one Seem to be working ) Coffees were stoned cold and half full. paid for large. When returned and were giving fresh I ended up with regular coffee. Missing items. Was accused of lying by one manager about going through drive through. Had to prove the time I ordered and the time it was currently. To prove I had been there that long .... Never delt with such a rude manager before at MacDonalds. I know it's a stressful industry but that one manager shouldn't have been giving the position. Considering there customer service skills were as useful as the neighbours cat. the 1 manager out of 3 seem only to know what they were doing but looked like they were about to cry with the back log of customers , delivery men and drive through orders waiting outside. Delivery men ( just eat ) getting irritated with orders just sitting there on back shelf and no one was seeing to them getting rude with MacDonalds managers and staff. Horrid atmosphere.
