We recently celebrated my father-in-law’s 90th birthday at the victory, and I honestly can’t praise them enough. From the moment we enquired, the team went above and beyond to make the day not only special but incredibly safe and inclusive for our family.
Our son has a serious nut allergy, and the level of care and attention shown was exceptional. The staff took it upon themselves to deep clean the kitchen, remove all nut products from the premises, and even took a dish off the menu to ensure there was no risk of cross-contamination. At no point were we made to feel like an inconvenience — quite the opposite, in fact. We were met with kindness, professionalism, and genuine reassurance every step of the way.
The birthday celebration itself was just perfect. The food, the atmosphere, and the warmth of the staff made it a truly memorable day for my father-in-law and everyone who joined us. It’s rare to find somewhere that combines such high standards of hospitality with real heart, but the victory absolutely nailed it.

It is dog friendly which ticks a big box these days (absolutely not mine though. Keep 'em out along with children) so no five star rating. The beer for me is sound, and whilst I've not tried their snap, the plates blasted forth appear to be bang on. Along with two other rival boozers within a few hundred metres of each other, the South Gosforth area I think is well served for punters like myself requiring beer....
