pre booked a t able for 14 ppl on a sunday for the sunday lunch. We all arrived by 2.30 as arranged. We were all a bit squashed in and not enough room for all our plates. We then went to order our food...the young girl who took our order informed us there was No beef, no roasties and no mash left?? it sunday..the pub was very quiet???... so we ordered Pork...No Pork left.... She ended up getting our order completely wrong!! sent out almost triple of most items and then became annoyed and flustered when we told her the order was wrong..causing her to re-read our order...no surprises here...she was wrong, no apologies..just tutted and walked away... The Lamb shoulder was very cold, most of my family could not eat it and left it. The manager apologized and gave us free deserts, which was nice but...They couldnt even get this right and forgot to bring 2 deserts out!! not satisfactory considering the huge amount of mistakes and chaos that was caused. If it was a huge booking and we all had starters etc then perhaps we could understand somewhat...but it wasn't. We wrote our orders down and handed the order over "to make it easier"...In future we will NOT be eating here again. Manager was lovely and tried hard to rectify the issues but it was a disaster from...

I'll start with the positives! Lovely service the staff were very friendly. Drinks were fantastic - especially the Guinness! The area was lovely and clean. The toilets were lovely, even if the women's were all the way upstairs!

The tables were quite squished together so there wasn't any room for social distancing or even getting past your table to get to the bar.

Shame the food was lacking. We ordered two hunters chicken that came with barely any BBQ sauce that they were dry! The chicken platter was more batter than chicken. The sugar cane bone in the jackfruit was confusing and it was so vingerary in taste I couldn't eat it.

And the menu is incorrectly labelled - FYI halloumi isn't vegan its made with goats milk! (to note VE usually stands for vegan where as V is normally vegetarian the menu was honestly baffling with how the foods were labelled) I'm vegetarian and not vegan so I didn't truly mind but a vegan would be very unhappy to see this.

Overall the experience was lovely! I hope the kitchen is able to amend a few things and the menu is reprinted correctly. This place has a lot...

Me and my friends just finished six form and went out to celebrate and have a drink, we ordered and the workers where treating with no respect. Then the manager comes out to our table, we where causing no problems. We all of age and being quite but the manager comes out saying she doesn’t want school children coming to our pub and create a reputation of our kind of people. She had no respect for us and kicked us out without even letting us finish the drinks we just bought. And she then called all the pubs in the area saying we are causing problems just because we are 18 year olds and she’s was just being a huge Karen as you can expect. I think this woman needs lessons in being polite as we are paying for her pension in the future and if she treats adults like this she will not have any customers meaning she will go out of business, I’ve also told everyone I know go not go to that pub, also my dad is a food critic and will be having works with the pub. That’s all I’ve got...

We attend newcastle for hospital appointments and travel from scotland the night before appointments .We were looking for somewhere to go and have dinner and what a find. What a lovely atmosphere very friendly and clean as soon as we walked in, we had a warm greeting from the staff.the food was lovely warm and plentiful.to top our visit, there was a (free) quiz on, and the locals made us feel so welcome .at half time, each table was given a plate of chips (again, these were free). we honestly can not be more thankful to all the staff and locals for making our night memorable. we sure will be going back on our next visits to Newcastle

The outdoor seating here is lovely with a marquee up for protection. Staff are helpful and attentive. We used to love the food here but today the Food could have been a bit better for the price. Chips portions were good but the fish and burger were a bit disappointing for £9-10 a meal. Pie was nice but the vegetables were overcooked. Nice way to spend a day in the sun as the seating is south facing and the food will fill you up. Wouldn't go back just for the food though

My local pub, pop in for drinks regularly and enjoy the warm atmosphere and selection. This was my first time eating here and it was great, staff as nice as ever, it’s pretty reasonably priced by gosforths standards and the roast was delicious. Particularly enjoyed the festive elements of it and it was nicely rounded off by two well presented and tasty desserts!
