Burger King at Newport Retail Park - A Recipe for Frustration

My recent visit to the Burger King at Newport Retail Park left a decidedly sour taste in my mouth, and not because of the food (which I didn't even get to properly enjoy). We attempted to use a voucher, only to be met with a baffling and frankly ridiculous explanation for its rejection.

Apparently, it was valid "only Monday to Thursday but not Friday," the very day we happened to be there (May 9th, 2025). To make matters worse, the staff member we spoke to seemed completely clueless about the voucher's terms and conditions. This lack of knowledge only amplified our frustration. Instead of a quick and easy meal after perhaps a day of shopping at the retail park, we were met with confusion and an illogical policy.

We ended up taking our food outside, but the entire experience had left me feeling incredibly stressed and annoyed. What should have been a simple fast-food stop turned into an exercise in frustration.

Based on this experience, I can honestly say I will not be returning to this particular Burger King at Newport Retail Park anytime soon. There are plenty of other places within the retail park, and beyond, where I can spend my money and not be met with nonsensical voucher restrictions and ill-informed staffIt was a A truly disappointing visit on a...

Absolutely disgusted with the service at this Burger King. My husband & I choose this over another well-known burger chain as the food is normally of a higher standard. However, tonight we were served with COLD burgers - my husband had the bacon & cheese burger - the bacon was still fridge cold. I had a whopper with cheese - again it was cold. Returned to staff, no apologies, burgers replaced - however, these were part of a meal and after a further 10 minute wait - we had eaten the tepid fries, I am quite sure that my husband's burger had just had some of his bacon removed and the whole lot microwaved. My burger was also replaced, still not hot, dry and quite honestly disgusting. My original order requested no pickle or onion, 2nd burger had both - just as well it's just a dislike and not an allergy - and NO cheese. The staff were all very young with seemingly no work ethic or management in evidence, standing around chatting or leaning on the counter, with total disregard to customers requirements. The place seems to be run by youngsters with attitude problems that don't know what manners are. The staff avoided eye contact and ignore the desk and float about in the food preparation area. They slapped my order down on the counter and walked away before I could even pick it up. They didn't even say "thanks enjoy your meal" or "anything else I can get for you" they forgot to put the cups on the tray with my meal, as the soft drinks are self serve from theirs drinks machines. But it took me a while to get someone back to the counter to ask for them. I looked for condiments none anywhere. I only wanted some salt. This then took some time to get waiting yet again for someone to come back to the counter. When some one finally did come to the counter and I asked for some salt they again slapped some salt packets on the counter and walked off. Didn't even have the manners to hand them to me or offer any apology. The eating area, tables were not clean and most had packaging and half meals over them. The toilets were in a hell of a state, I did nearly just leave but I had to go much to my reluctance. Would avoid this place...
