Morrisons Cafe — Restaurant in Newport

Food was great for the price point. The lower stars is is due to staff. The staff member that served us was just rude. I have worked in service and even in restaurants and cafes myself and was surprised by the way this person was allowed to behave.

My mother had gone to make her self service coffee, not noticing a staff member was behind her. The staff member swatted my mother's hand out the way and sharply told her to "wait" no please or excuse me or any politeness at all. I witnessed all this as I was stood next to her. When our food was brought to the table my phone was placed down near the table edge, I had just realised it might be in the way and was about to move it, when the same staff member from earlier said "move your phone" again very impolite and with a face like thunder. I apologized and moved it quickly.

I almost never write reviews, let alone bad ones, but I just couldn't believe the rudeness. I even witnessed the staff member physically push another customer...

Been to this cafe twice, neither visit was a great experience. Ordered off the self order at the front of the cafe. There are always items that are not available and have not been taken off, the first time I visited, half of the items we ordered were not available and when we ordered again with a member of staff after 10 minutes we were told those items were also not available. In the end we asked for a refund (which we got after being made to wait until they could find someone who could do it) and left. The second time I visited I was told I couldn't have a refund for the item I ordered that wasn't available. When I said that wasn't acceptable I was reluctantly told I could choose something else of the same value but a refund still wasn't available. Staff are abrupt, unhelpful, it's disorganised and an unpleasant atmosphere. When I did get food the order was wrong and it was slid across the table to me. Unlikely to...

Wasn't expecting much but still disappointed. The only things that were actually cooked on my breakfast is what had been in the microwave, the scrambled eggs and beans. Everything else was uncooked or raw. The mushrooms and tomato appeared to have looked at a match from a great distance and were still completely raw. Hash brown and black pudding were crispy on the outside but raw...
