Itās not in my nature to leave a negative review, especially for an independent female led business. But unfortunately in this case I must. I was so looking forward to taking my two year old to the play village, what a fabulous idea and facility. I phoned ahead and the earlier session was fully booked. So I booked for the lunch time session and arrived half an hour early because I wanted to make sure I knew where it was, and thought we could have lunch in the cafe ahead of our booked session. I had not realised the cafe is in the actual space so when we arrived the lady let us through and my son was so excited and skipped straight in. When I mentioned to the lady that we were a little early she told us we had to leave. No compassion or suggestion of where we could go whilst we waited. So,I had to take my son out of the play village and as you can imagine, he is two years old and didnāt understand why he couldnāt stay. We were both visibly upset, yet no apology, no empathy and no courteous behaviour was offered, just a rude sullen look. Iāve never felt so embarrassed and upset. We did come back as I refused to let my son miss out. But we would not recommend due to the poor service we received which we were owed an apology for. It should have been made clear to us, and we should not have been let through, only to be asked to leave. Poor management and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLittle Oaks is okay. I like it because the staff are friendly and helpful, it's never overcrowded and is an easy place to visit with my 3 year old and 10 month old. However, the reason for the 3* review is that the place is getting tired now and is in need of a refurbishment. There is paint chipping off most of the surfaces there, and the toys are in desperate need of being replenished. For example, we went inside the little shop area and there was nothing left on the shelves. I understand that children move the toys to other areas, but even when you take this into account there still aren't enough toys (I managed to locate the play food that was meant for the shop and there was barely anything and it was all worn/faded and fit for the bin). This is just one example of several areas within Little Oaks that need some attention. I've seen some other reviews from parents who have said the same, and I really hope that Little Oaks pay attention to these reviews as it really does have the potential to be a lovely place, it's just a shame it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was our first visit with my 3 year old. Initially it looked great with little ābuildingsā & a fairy tree at the centre but on closer inspection everything looks tired & in need of TLC. There were lots of fairy lights but none on- this could make for a more magical play environment. The animals in the vets are old a shabby. Lots of missing items in the grocery stall - why have an ice cream stand when there were no cones or ice creams to play with? It also felt cold as the heaters were initially on but switched off after a point. It is the little details that could really make this place special. Even the height of some of the shelves were far too high for smaller children. I am sure when this place opened it was fantastic & I know things break, go missing or look tired after repeated use but surely keeping the āmagicā is key so updating & restocking is part of that process. So...
