Hard finding good food in Newcastle and that's its only downfall for me personally me and the family have tried a few cafes and restaurants and they have all been terrible but Nueglato has always made up for the bad meals lol.
First impressions old fashion woodwork bar shaky tables and chairs I knew the food was going to be sub power didn't want to take the gamble so we all had main meals instead of are usual 3 course, £16 quid a meal is ridiculous unless it's the sort of meal you're recieving at the Ross harbour then it's worth it but it wasn't unfortunately 3 wooden platters came with hand full off chips in 3 bowls which were tasteless and dry 3 hand fulls of rocket on each which has no reason being there. I had a chicken burger that was cooked nice but wasn't dressed with mayo onions tomatoe lettuce or even cheese for that matter nothing but a boat load of coleslaw that was rough that I had to scrape off I have no idea who has a plain chicken burger with slaw onit beyond me doesn't go in my opinion. If you want a heavily battered crispy heavenly chicken burger this isn't the one for you I actually thought the coleslaw was going to be on the side like a garnish like most places. Daughter had the cibatta dry as a bone any wonder she picked at it wife had a grass feed beef burger that was thick as a rum steak in a bun 🙈 not good best thing about the burger was the brioche I wouldn't recommend try somewhere else next time I'm down heard the Italian restaurant is the best...
Read moreI booked Sunday Dinner for 4 adults and 1 child for 5pm. On arrival it was overall confusion with a lot of young inexperienced staff running around looking stressed out therefore non-attentive to arriving customers. The few older experience d staff were clearly underpressure also. We were passed from pillar to post before eventually getting seated. The place was busy but not flat out, I've seen it alot busier. We were served by giving a verbal menu(Covid 19 of course) by staff member who didn't bother telling us there was starters? So thinkingdinner only, ordered Sunday Roast for me, Haddock and chips for father, Chicken Goujons and chips for wife and sausage and chips for Son. My Roast dinner tasted fine although portion was very small. Haddock was delicious and looked great although the chips were shocking not fresh with black bits on most and again miserable portion size. Wife said the Goujons were fine although a common to theme with chips. Sausage was fine for son. I've held my wedding here, recommend weddings here which I've also attended but this latest experience has been poor to say the least. I spent a week in Newcastle and are out daily and I can't believe McCann's / O'Hare's restaurant was the worst. Nobody else blamed C-19 and there were menus available elsewhere. Poor management, poor service and substandard quality on this occasion. Where has it all gone wrong for here? Very...
Read moreWent for a family meal for christmas. We were told to wait and then taken to a christmas party room that we hadn’t booked for. Then we were taken back into the bar and told to pick seats in the bar for a meal for 9 people. We then asked to be moved into the restaurant and were moved into a cold empty restaurant with no one else. We then were rushed to order our food because they took that long to seat us that the kitchen was closing. We ordered food with a bill of £170 but some of the things we had ordered never came. We then brought these issues up to the waiter and were told that we could not talk to the manager because he was too busy. We finally talked to the manager who was at the bar drinking and got the price lowered but they were still trying to charge us for the food we never received. We told the waiter this and he said “if you don’t pay for this it will come out of my salary” when one of the party member said that that was illegal and she would be reporting it he then turned on his words and took the price of the things we never received off the bill.
Overall the service wasn’t great and neither was the food or the experience in general....
